Hi everyone, first I was to say sorry for all the losses out there....

A bit of history: I am 27 and have a 1.5 year old daughter (took a year to get prego w/ her). We decided to have one more and I got pregnant on our second month of trying. Miscarried really early (not sure exactly when) and had to have a D&C at 7 weeks when an er visit showed no heartbeat at 6 weeks. I knew something was wrong as I started spotting at 5 weeks and that never stopped

D&C date June 4th. I very mildly spotted for about a week. Then nothing for a week then starting on the 18th I had full on bleed w/ a little cramping that lasted 5 days. I considered this my period as it was exactly like my periods are. I went to my follow up post D&C appt and the dr. said there is no way I can have a period two weeks after D&C. Has anyone out there had their period that soon after the surgery?? I was thinking it was possible esspecially since I wasn't very far along.

Everything since has been fine....I was having some cramping during the past week...which I am hoping was ovulation pains. I am hoping we can get pregnant immediately. During the follow up the dr. did give us the go head and said my uturus was fine and back to normal size, but she never ordered a HCG count????

Sorry this was so long, but I know it helps to answer ?'s when there is some history. This was my first miscarriage Anyone have a period soon after D&C and get pregnant soon after as well????

Im sorry for your loss, hun. You have definitely come to the right place for answers and support. The ladies here are wonderful and have so much information to share.
I havent experienced a D&C so I have no answers for you, but I wanted to say welcome to the board and I wish you luck on your journey.

I had a D&C with my 1st loss I had a missed m/c at 12 weeks and had to have a D&C I got my af about 5 weeks after I recall being very impatient as I wanted to ttc asap I am wondering could it still be a bit of bleeding from the D&C? just a thought.... That is what I have been wondering if it was just left over bleeding from the D&C...it was just odd to me that it was heavy like a normal period and everything and lasted as long as my periods last...about 5 days. But I think you may be right...I think I too am just super impatient and ready to see that AF so that we can get pregnant again (have already been ttc since that bleeding stopped).

My guess is it was from the D&C. I did not get AF for 4 weeks, and then was able to get pregnant with this one.

I had a D&C after a loss discovered at 12w, but I didn't get my first period for 11 weeks.

I think they say that it is not a period after a D&C until you have had 3 weeks without bleeding of any kind. I would guess that the bleed you had was not a true period, but post-D&C bleeding. If you doctor gave you the go ahead to TTC, I wouldn't worry. Dr's will give out all kinds of conflicting advice, and mostly it seems that they say to wait for emotional reasons. Good luck with catching that egg!

I guess I am just going to baby dance every other day for now and whatever happens happens The dr. gave the go ahead and said the only reason she wanted us to go through a cycle first was to "know" the due date and be able to calculate dates easier. I think they can figure all that out even if I am not exactly sure. I just am ready for it to happen soon!! I miscarried pretty early probably at around 5.5 weeks, so I was hoping that it being early would make my next period come sooner?

I had two D&C's and both times had bleeding a week or so later that was just my body finishing everything. Then about 4-5 weeks had my normal period. A D&C doesn't take everything your body still has to get rid of some things. I hope you get your cycle back soon and can TTC and get pregnant fast. I am so sorry for your loss.

Thanks so much...I will be 5 weeks post D&C on Friday so hopefully it comes soon. How far along were you when you had yours? I was wondering if how far along some is can be a factor in how long it takes the cycle to come back?

Everyone's body is different. I think it has more to do with how your body recovers than how far along you were. I was 15 weeks and almost 13 weeks when I had my D&C's. Hopefully your cycle is just around the corner.

That makes sense! We are all sooo different and it drives me nuts to hear/read all the conflicting info from dr.s they should all be on the same page!

On a possibly bright note about two hours ago I went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was a very light pink tinge on the paper. I never had that before a cycle but I guess it means my period is coming? Did you have that happen? Not sure what else it would be......the D&C was on the 4th of June.

I was around 10 weeks when I had my d&c though i found out pregnancy had ended at around 6 weeks.. I bled off and on for at least a month if not longer.. I didnt get my actual period until probably April and my d&c was in Feb!!..
