This is probably going to be a bit long and rambling, so I will apologize in advance.
Today during a quiet moment when we weren't in the middle of a miscarriage or getting ready to BD or being distracted by anything else, DH and I sat down and had a long talk. We were very honest with each other and discussed all of our options and what we each needed/wanted as far as TTC, our house, our relationship and just life in general. This talk was LONG overdue.
Four years of TTC has really taken a toll on each of us as individuals and on us as a couple. 8 losses has had quite an impact too. We have decided that we are going to take a much needed break from TTC and work on us. I am going to school, we both work, my daughter is going through puberty and we are remodeling our house on top of all of this. We need to step back and spend all the time we can working on us.
We also are really starting to feel like IVF is the best option for us. When our RE suggested it, we weren't even considering it. Now, we are ready to move on, but we need to save up the cash. When we first started talking about a break at the beginning of the week we decided to take 6 months. After our talk today, and taking a look at our income, our budget and our financing options we realized that the soonest we can do IVF is in a year and a half (that's with saving EVERY possible penny that we can). Because I will still be in school at that time, we've decided to go on BC. I will stay on until around July or August 2012. I will head to the RE then and do IVF.
Because of how long this "break" is going to be, I can't stay on the TTC boards. As much as I love all of you, watching group after group of ladies come and go is so heartbreaking. Knowing that it will be another 2 years before I can even think about a BFP would just be too hard. I will still be on JM, but I am hiding the TTC boards. You can also keep in touch with me on facebook (link is in my signature).
I do wish each and every one of you all the best of luck. I hope you all go on to have very happy and healthy pregnancies very soon. I would never have made it this far without the ladies here on this board. Thank you fo all of your support. I'm really going to miss all of you!

Sometimes a break is the best thing... Saving for IVF is a good goal. I wish you the best of luck! Will you be hanging out at RPL? I will miss you.

I totally understand your decision. Best of luck with everything that you've got going on, and I pray that IVF will bring your your bfp!

Hi Stephanie,
Totally understand! I have watched so many girls come and go out of here... It just hurts me more knowing I am the last one left. When you decide you want to do the IVF route, there are financing options; ask your RE when it is time!
Best of everything to you and good luck in Nursing School!

A break is completely understandable. There's only so much you can take when you have to wait and bfps pop up everywhere. I wish you the best of luck in Nursing School!! I pray for peace for you and hope that the next two years fly by!

Best of Luck Stephanie! It sounds like it is a much needed break and it will bring good things. Good luck with nursing school and I hope to some day read your successful IVF thread.

Taking a break is completely understandable. We've been trying for over a year now and sometimes it feels like ttc rules your life. Sometimes it's best to put your life back together before you can move forward. I wish you the best of luck with school, your family and life in general. You have helped so many women with your kind words and encouragement. You will definitely be missed!

Trust me I completely understand! That's why I had to take a break from all of the TTC boards just recently with my 6 month break. It really was the best thing for me at the time. GL &

I wish you the best of luck with everything. I understand your need for a break and saving for IVF. I really feel like doing a break to but just cant bring myself to it yet. I think its coming and we really need to save for IUI as my insurance doesnt cover any of it. If that doesnt work its on to IVF for us to.
I think your break with do you good. I have thought about going to nursing school as well so best of luck with that.

I'm sorry to see you go, but completely understand. Hopefully you will get a windfall and won't have to wait a year and half to do IVF.

Erica, I will be popping into RPL from time to time. I've joined the WTTC board too and I'll still be making blinkies and doing a few other things around JM. I'm not leaving completely. Just not hanging out on the TTC boards. It's hard enough fighting with the desire to TTC without being around here where baby fever is highly contageous! lol
My body decided that right now is a good time to start actually working. I got a postive OPK today (actually it's kind of early even for a normal cycle, but definitely way early for me). For now we are using condoms and I start the pill on Sunday. A cycle or two of that and I might be able to start popping back in from time to time.

I completely understand. I only pop in for stuff like this to offer encouragement. We aren't TTC and its tough. Many prayers for you and that when your time is here you will have a happy and healthy pregnancy.
