Oh ladies, my medications for our first IVF cycle showed up today, in a HUGE box. I paid $3,500 for all my meds and I was too scared to open the box!!! I really hope i'm going to survive this!!! I'm so freakin scared right now! I have to do different kinds of injections. Some in my abdomen and some in my butt muscle! again i've been too afraid to deal with this. I don't have to start meds until the 31st of July. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh help me!!

Lynda - I am so excited for you! I don't know how big the injections are for your stomach, but if they are anything like Lovenox, it won't be a big deal after the first couple of ones.
I can't wait to read about your BFP! Please keep us posted.
Kat.

Ok... I would like to say its no big deal and the shots are easy... BUT I AM A CHICKEN! I really want to do an IUI with injectibles cycle but I am too afraid of the shots. When my DF had to do the trigger shot I was so afraid and kept screaming like a baby. It took him and my son 5 min to calm me down enough to give me the shot and when he did it, it was nothing... I was a brat for no reason. It did not hurt at all, lol.
Looking forward to you getting a BFP and watching your belly grow Lynda!

Oh I am so excited for you. I know it can be a little scary. Try not to worry. Just take a deep breath and think about giving birth to your beautiful baby.

Just wanna say grab some fat (if you have some) on your belly and give it a hard pinch ("pinch an inch") and then give the injection there and the pinch of your fingers should help you not feel the shot. Go in fast and straight, and don't hesitate going in or pulling out (going quickly helps it hurt less- but most people hesitate/go slow, esp. on themselves)Before you know it you'll be a pro. The butt muscle one will be a bit more painful but going in hard, straight and fast should help, think like a dart.
Practice on an orange before hand if you have extra syringes/needles- their skin is most similar to ours.
Good luck!!!

I understand what you mean though I admit yours is probably a lot scarier than mine but I'll be starting Follistim around the 31st too & I'm a bit nervous about the injections myself. Pills are so much easier.
GL on your IVF!
