Alright I'm not sure if you girls will know the answer to this or not. I've done a little research but come up with very little.

To terminate my ectopic they gave me two doses of methotrexate. I also took promethezine, and amoxicillin for it as well.

I'm very pale by nature. And by pale I mean glow in the dark white. No matter how hard i've tried in the past I always sunburn, but NEVER tan. And I mean ever. This summer, so far I am very tan. I'm almost as dark as my husband who is native american. I've only gone to the lake once for two hours, (with loads of sunscreen because of how easily my skin burns) and other than that it's just been normal outsideness. (IE: Going down the street to check the mail, a trip to the park in the evening with my daughter) My mom looked at me the other day, and said i've never seen you this tan before in my life!

This is so odd to me! I haven't done anything different than I have in the past, nor have I been exposed to the sun more than usual. In fact it has been less that normal because i've been feeling like crap lately, we are usually at the lake every weekend.

So I suppose my question is, is do you ladies think this has something to do with the drugs they gave me for that pregnancy? Should I be concerned about it? It's just not normal for me, nor has it ever been.

That's a good question.... If you are concerned about it you can always call your Dr and ask..

First, I am very sorry for your loss.

I have no idea if the drugs could cause the side effect, but I do know that unusual tanning can be a symptom of Addison's disease, also known as adrenal fatigue.

You should call your doctor and see what he or she says.

Kat.

My dad had addisons, the "tanning" was very patchy, not like a suntan. I hope you get some answers

I've been treated with methotrexate 2 sets of 2 shots and was never read or made aware of such a side effect. Not sure that is one... have you checked WebMD or typed up rare methotrexate side effects?

Methotrexate Side Effects | Drugs.com

...from what I've seen *photosensitivity* is a much more common side effect rather than tanning easier. Which can occur with allot of medications, chemo drug therapies and so much more. (like anti-biotics) So I'm not sure what to tell you, but I agree call your practitioner and tell them your concerns. When in doubt get it checked out!
