Hiya, new here.

I miscarried in May at 5w3d. There is a possibility I may have lower progesterone due to the fact that I have some spotting a few days before my period almost every month. Could that have been the cause of the m/c? As of last month, I no longer have insurance...so I can't have any tests done to confirm it.

Would using a progesterone cream supplemented with B6 be a wise decision? Could it maybe prevent another m/c?

HUGS So sorry for your loss.....
This question is asked alot here on the board... While yes it is a possibility.. I would Call your Dr before starting anything. A lot of Dr believe that low progesterone is caused by a non vialble pregnancy... some Dr's feel low progesterone can cause a m/c.... Some Drs Like mine... just don't know and put you on it after m/c's.... Nothing can Prevent another m/c from happening. Most early m/c are due to chromosomal...

Here is a good link that touches on a alot of the points..

Thank you! That was very helpful.

Should we keep trying as usual even with low levels?

Oral Progesterone is about 30 dollars Walmart... (with out insurance) for the 10 days after Ovulation. If it was me.. I would call your Dr and see if he would call in script.. Since Oral is better than the cream. Look up the cream... it does not give you a consistant level, It goes Injection is the best, oral is the next.. and cream.. is questionable.

HUGS... GOOD LUCK KUP!!!

If this was your first miscarriage most Dr's won't really do much testing or anything.. After you have 2 or 3 in a row then they want to start testing.. I had my third miscarriage June 1st, and I was suppost to get my progesterone levels tested in Aug. I don't have insurance either and I am paying out of pocket for that test.. I have been using a progesterone cream I bought over the counter just as a percautionary, because I am not preventing.. I have seen a difference in my cycle but I also have other symptoms of low progesterone. Good luck hun..
