Ok, some of you know my story but here is a background ..
I lost twins in an early missed misscarriage . 1 baby died at 9.5 weeks and one died at 10.3 weeks .. I had my first D&C and the doctor said he got everything out but 2 weeks later I was in pretty bad pain and still bleeding kinda heavy, so after being blown off , I went back in and they were like oh yeah we missed some, you need another d&c . So they did one that day . After the 2nd D&C( done exactly 2 weeks after the 1st ) I had bleeding the day of the operation, extremely slight spotting on the 2nd day and then nothing... 4 days after the 2nd d&c I started to get egg white ovulation CM, which the doc said was within normal and not to have sex because I was still healing and could be ovulating . So I had no energy really but felt better mentallly, like i could start to move on and get ready to TTC again . We decided to wait 1 normal period.. The DR said I could do wii fit a week after the D&C and my energy picked up slightly by then, so I did, nothing extreme.. I mean how extreme can wii fit be? It went well !! I lost like 4 pounds felt better with exercise, I did not over do it and I started to eat better and all was well . 1 day I woke with awful back cramps and by the afternoon out of no where I had what felt like a massive contraction . Mind you I had turned a digital pregnancy test positive that morning . I knew it was left over from the miscarriage but thats how I was monitoring my hcg at home . I went to the bathroom and had some bright red blood and I thought YAY, my period is coming.. and then within the next 5 mins all went south .. I started passing fist sized clots that I could feel coming out and blood was pouring out of me, in rivers down my legs, all over the floors .. My husband called 911.. After all was said and done, the ER doc said it was abnormal uterine bleeding . They did an indepth ultra sound and said there was a lot of blood and to go to a follow up 2 days later.. I lost about 30 ozs of blood while I was there.. it was sooo scary . Oh and my HCG was at 22 .
Two days later I went to my reg OB for the follow up APT . He did an exam , internal, ordered a cat scan and ended up pulling out a clot during the exam.. He said he is not sure where the pain is coming from but that it was his opinion that this bleeding was my period . He said the amount of bleeding was alarming but the fact that the flow slowed down to a normal period meant to him that it was infact my period and said that lots of women have irregular periods post miscarriage and D&C . He said that while I still had HCG in my blood, it was very low and that women can have a period when they still have HCG in their systems . He told me that the chromosonal test came back from the first d&c ( done 4 weeks ago at the time ) and that there were nor chromosonal abnormalities . Both babies were boys.. We thought 1 was a boy and 1 a girl , so now of andrew and abby, we renamed the 2nd baby caleb.. So we have ( or have not ) Andrew and Caleb .. In anycase, he said that the lab said the the 2nd D&C contained only uterine tissue and no POC or no prodicts of conception . So that my HCG started to drop even B4 the 1st D&Cand that after the D&C it got much lower so much faster that my body started to try and go back to normal . So Yeah, per my DR this bleeding is a period . After that first day I only have tiny mucasy clots and normal period bleeding . It is dark red, normally does not reach a pad but lots of it when I wipe and at night I wear a tampon . It is now going on 7.5 days of this period .. I still have pain /moderate cramping but it is not like OH my gosh I can't function pain but it is not much better either . They did a CT scan and said that I had either old blood or pus around one of my overies , so they gave me a shot in the rear of antibiotics and 2 different antibiotics to take each 2 times a day for 14 days incase it is an infection, if it is old blood they said it will go away on it's own . I feel like I can't move on till this period is over.. I just want my body to at least slowly go back to where it was before so we can try to TTC . My RE said he will let us do another IUI after this period as my uterus is healed . This time he will follow me closer with blood tests and I will get either HCG support or progesterone support .

So if this is my first period like they said it was, it started exactly 4 weeks after the 1st D&C which they said was well within normal, it is going on almost 8 days and shows no signs of stopping . it is dark red, slightly mucasy blood with tiny clots, I did get all normal horrible signs of PMS but they were much more pronounced then what is normal . I took a HOT 2 days after my lvels were 22 and it finally came back as not pregnant( I cried ) and then I took another tongiht and it was still negative... I wear a pad but I rarely need to, as I said it is mostly when I wipe but when I do there is a lot of red blood . again I am sorry . So how were your first periods ? How long did it take you to get them, how long did they last, how heavy were they ? I am sorry this was so long but I am kinda scared.. Mine never went past 5-6 days and I normally only had cramping the day or two b4 it styarted along with 2 days during it max and then the cramps left me .. I just want this one to end.. as with the next one we are doing IUI .. So please , any feedback or advice would be a massive help . We are overseas with the military and away from family and friends and other then my hubby I have no support.. I just feel like I can't wait to TTC again.. I just want my baby or babies..

HUGS... I am so sorry that you are going through this... While we can give you our experiances.. every lady is different.. as with each loss... I have had three losses, each loss experiance was so different. My first was a "chemical" M/C. It was slightly heavier with some cramping. I got my period 4 weeks later. My second loss.. I needed a d/e. I had NO bleeding after surgery. I spotted in recovery, by the time I got home. Nothing on the new pad. My AF showed 35 days later. For the next 5 months.. I was almost in constant pain.. I would have a few days that I did not have cramping, aching or pain of sometype. I concieved 7 months after that d/e. Only to m/c again.... With the last one my numbers never got any higher than 93. But my body would not let go of the pregnancy. They wanted to do a d/c and I refused due to the 5 months of pain. I got my BFP in the end of Aug.. I started to bleed very slightly in Sept.. When I took another HPT...it was BLARING positive!!! They drew blood I was still in the 60's.. It took almost another month to have my numbers drop to 0. That period in October was very very heavy and clotty. With extreme cramps.

As you can see... Same woman, three m/c's... three totaly different senero's.

I wish it was cut and dry.. and an easy answer.. HUGS.. HUGS HUGS.. I am so sorry you are going through this.

I am so sorry for all you have been through I agree with Kary that every woman and every m/c is different. With my first AF after my D&C I didn't experience anything really out of the ordinary. But my hcg did take a long time (11 weeks) to get to negative. I didn't ovulate until my hcg was around 10, and I got my AF when my hcg was negative. My doctor followed my hcg down to negative with weekly blood draws. Maybe doing that would help ease your mind?

It sounds like you have opinions from several doctors, and I think you should do what you feel comfortable with. If you feel ok with moving forward right away, go for it. If you are still nervous, then wait another cycle.

I hope you bleeding stops soon and you are able to get your next BFP as soon as you are ready!

I had a chemical, and it was like a heavier period with lots of clots. I had a loss at 10 weeks (baby passed 7w, 4d), and had a D&C. I bled very little after wards, but was in a lot of pain. It felt like the labor I had with my son. I was in pain for a few weeks, then got my period 30 days later (after D&C). After that cycle, we conceived this one that I am currently pregnant with.
