I just wanted to ask some questions for those of you who've had a natural miscarriage....How long did the cramping/soreness last after you actually passed everything? How long did it take for the bleeding to stop? How long till you got your first period? Did anyone save tissue and bring it into the doctor for testing? How am I going to bring it in? It's going to be weird sitting in the waitingroom with my baby in a container and ziplock baggie...Did anyone get their blood tested till their levels went back to normal? Should I ask them to do that for me? (they didn't after my D&C)...I took a pregnancy test today, after just taking one just 2 days ago and it's already a lot lighter and I just had my miscarriage like 4 hours ago...I have to say that this miscarriage, even though I wasn't as far along as I was in my last pregnancy, was far more tramatic...I keep reliving how horrible it was over and over in my head...What's worse is my children were at home...When it started to get really bad I called my sister and told her she needed to come get them, but she didn't get here in time...My son looked like he wanted to cry and kept saying "I feel sorry for you mommy"...It's just been such an awful day, I wish I could forget it all..I hope to get some answers about this loss, i'm sick of not knowing anything.

My mc was at 8wks. The day before the baby passed, I went to the ER because the cramping was so bad. My hcg was only 35 so I knew I was having a mc despite the Dr telling me I was just early in the pregnancy. After the baby passed, the cramping eased up a bit. I passed more tissue that night but I didn't keep any as it was my first mc and I didn't think to save anything. The next day I took a hpt and it was negative. It was traumatic and I cry thinking you went through something similar. I had an u/s 3 days later that confirmed I had passed everything. After the baby passed, I bled for 5 days, like a regular period. I didn't have my hcg tested, just a pee test. I ovulated yesterday which would be about 14 days since the u/s or 17 days since I passed the baby. That's unusual for me since I had irregular periods before the mc.
I'm crying for you now. I'm so sorry this happened. I hope you can get some answers.

My natural mc was at 8 weeks... I had alot of cramping during but it eased up once baby had passed. I bled for about another week on and off and with some clotting. The cramping eased as each day went. I didnt save anything and really didnt think to. I knew it was coming as my betas went from 4000 to 800 in 2 days and was bleeding some before. AF showed for me 35 days later and it was a very bad one. I never did any follow up or bloodwork as I was told it was not necessary unless I was having complications. I hope you are able to find some answers Megan. Noone should have to go through this much less several times. HUGZ!

To answer your questions...my cramping pretty much stopped after I felt like I had to push and I passed it in the toilet. I bled for a week after I passed the baby. My cycles pretty much returned to normal afterwards, but I ovulated a little late. I didn't save the tissue, but I would say maybe put it in a small tupperware container maybe? It took my hcg about 3 weeks to go to normal. I do agree that a natural miscarriage can be more traumatic. It's very painful and very emotional when you don't know what to do after you pass the baby. But again, that's all I've experienced and I hope I never have to do it again. I think I'd rather have a d&c after my experience. I am so sorry your children were there and upset. I hope you get some answers. I'm very sorry.

I had my natural mc at 10 weeks, the cramping lasted about 12 hours total. I bled for 8 weeks, and had my period 27 days after the bleeding stopped. I didn't take any tissue in, but the dr tested some when I went in for a follow up. I didn't get my levels tested, I knew eventually when the bleeding stopped and my period came that it would mean I was back to zero. I'm so sorry that you are going through this again, and that it was so traumatic. I hope that your body will heal soon.

I had early early miscarriages and they were all natural.. It pretty much lasted like a period for me maybe a few days longer, and then I O'd later in my cycle.. I am so sorry you are going through this hun.. You can have the Dr monitor but most likely they won't.. They did when I had the methotrexate injections with the second loss cause of the meds and all.. I want to offer you hugs Megan.. I feel so bad to see you go through this..

My loss was very early. It was pretty much completely painless (or if there was pain, I don't remember it.) I too had the urge to push. I didn't take anything in to be tested. I passed my baby in the toilet, too. I bled for about another 4 days and was done. My hcg dropped to zero quickly, only a few days, but I was much earlier than you. If you need answers, definitely get the baby tested. Huge hugs again hun.. I'm so sorry you're going through it again..

The cramping and bleeding was very bad until I passed the placenta. I bled for about 2 1/2 weeks. I got my next period about 30 days from the miscarriage date. I never had an actual follow up because I went to the ER and they found no heartbeat. The next day I lost the baby. I would say with your losses, get the testing if they are willing. It would help you to know what's going on hopefully. My hcg levels at the hospital were that of an 11 week pregnancy. They went down quickly after that because I had a normal cycle the next month.

How long did the cramping/soreness last after you actually passed everything?
The ectopic was the worst out of all of them... with each of them I went thru an intense labor like I did with my living kids and I guess after my cervix opened up enough to start letting the big stuff pass thru. The pain continued for days just not as intense. With our ectopic loss it was the worst. I think it traumatized DH forever.
How long did it take for the bleeding to stop?
it took weeks, the least amount of time was 2-3wks and the most (ectopic) was 60+ days total
How long till you got your first period?
longer than a usual cycle and my post-loss cycles were longer for a few months
Did anyone save tissue and bring it into the doctor for testing?
No, but sometimes I wished I did!
How am I going to bring it in?
Perhaps in some distilled water in a container? Keep the tissue in the fridge I guess to preserve it?
Did anyone get their blood tested till their levels went back to normal?
Yes with each of my losses, especially after my ectopic loss all the way down to zero which was a few months later but in my other LO's losses it didn't take as long
Should I ask them to do that for me?
That's entirely up to you, it wouldn't hurt to get a weekly or bi-weekly draw just to know... at the same time it can be saddening tho when it's not at zero altho seeing the numbers go down is good emotionally

My loss was at 10 weeks. The cramping stopped almost immediately after I passed the baby. I bled for about a week after. AF showed 23 days later. My heart took a lot longer to heal. We didn't do any testing and I didn't get my HCG tested either.
