This off topic, but I am asking that you ladies pray for me this week. I have mailed out several resumes, etc the last few days and would really like to get a call. I really need a job right now.
Thank you in advance ladies! I will keep you posted on how the job hunt is going. I will sub if I don't find anything in the next few weeks.

I feel like I am stressed to the max here. I am super tired. I woke up at 11 yesterday and haven't been to bed. It is almost 11 here. I stayed up all night filling out an application.
I really want a teaching job. I followed up today with two schools that I sent my resume to. Just wanted to make sure that they received everything. I had to leave a msg at one school for the superintendent and talked to the secretary at the other. The secretary did say she talked to the superintendent though and he had all my info. I had an interview there last year. Not sure if they will call me again this year or not. I hope they call me again even if it is an hour away.  Both schools have 2 openings each.
Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I heard that Illinois is having a huge crisis with education like we are here in NJ, is that right? We're losing teachers left, right, and sideways because of our wonderful governor and his $820 million dollars in cuts to funding. I've got all of my crossables crossed and I'm praying you're able to find a job soon.

Yes, it is awful here. I got let go as an aide b/c of funding. If I don't get a job this year I sure hope it gets better by next year. I am competing with at least 200-300 applicants.

That's the exact same problem we're having here. The market is flooded with all the experienced teachers that were let go because of funding and it makes it hard for the newer teachers to have a shot. I'm really really hoping that you get that call!!

Thanks Lori, I am too! I just e-mailed my info to a school about an hour away for a position that is for 1 year leave of absence. Hopefully I will hear something back from him.
Last year I had several interviews. This year....NOTHING! Actually there really hasn't been many openings. I think I may have applied at maybe 8 places so far. That is pushing it. That is counting the four that I just recently applied to within the last week.

Yay!!!! So far prayers are working! Please keep them coming. I have an interview at 2:00 on Monday. I guess they already offered the job to someone else and he ended up taking a job at a different school. I had an interview there last year for the exact same position. It is an hour away though. Good news: Principal already called one of my references(principal) and he said he worked with her husband(principal). I think it is a plus that they already called my reference and a bonus that he worked with her husband so he can trust her recommendation.
** Now I have to go buy a suit b/c I gained weight after my m/c. I really don't think any of my suits will fit me anymore.

I forgot to mention that he said something about not being truly happy about the other candidates and the board will meet Monday night! I am guessing that I will know something that night or Tuesday morning!

YAY!! I'm so glad you have an interview! I think you have fabulous odds since the principal knows someone who knows you and he's not happy with the other candidates! Oh I soooo hope that you get this position!

GEEZ!!!! Could I be anymore nervous? LOL Interview is in less than 10 hours! I have to go to bed still. Not to mention it takes me at least an hour to get ready b/c of my hair. It will also take me an hour to get there. I am leaving about 2 hours in advance. Last year I got lost on my way there. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes great and I get the job!!! I feel like I deserve at least one thing in my life to go right now.
