It is for a part-time elementary teacher and part-time aide so it will be for a full day. Not exactly sure what I will be teaching yet or if I will have my own classroom. I am really hoping to have my own room though b/c for the last 2 years I have been working out of a box! LOL I start tomorrow at 8:00!

Thanks everyone!
I got to meet all of the teachers today. They all seemed very nice and I think I will enjoy working with all of them. The school seems like it is going to be a pretty good school overall.
I hate to vent but I am a little mad/jealous. A girl that graduated from the same town as me got the science job. She just graduated college in May and get this.... JUST got her science endorsement a week ago. She has 8 computers in her room, smartboard, gets a laptop to take to and from work. She kept going on about how she doesn't really know what to do, etc. Talk about p****** me off. Hello! She will have textbooks she can go by and the teacher left her lesson plans and all her rules and stuff. So aggravating. I think if I wouldn't have applied for both positions then I would have got the science position. Lesson learned!
Where to start for me? LOL I have my own desk and it is in a room that I can put chairs and tables in. The only thing is when I do the part-time teaching I can't use the room b/c it isn't big enough. They have another room that I will use and about 3 other teachers. Not at the same time though. We have different times throughout the day that we will use it. So I can't decorate that room b/c other people use it. Unless I talk to them about maybe putting up some stuff. It is a pretty large room though so it may look a little silly with just a few posters. I don't even know if I will get to teach out of my room. I am a part-time aide for Title Reading. The Title Reading teacher will tell me what to do. I don't really have a problem with that I just don't know if I will have to teach in her room or mine. I hope that I can teach in my own room. What is the point in decorating my room if the kids don't get to come in there? So that is a little discouraging I want my own room to teach out of. I have taught from a box the last two years and don't want to have to do that any more.
7:40-12:30 I will work with students who struggle in reading (K, 2nd and 4th grade). I will also have morning duty, lunch duty, and my lunch during that time frame. 12:37-2:10 I will teach 3 classes. They will be K-5 for character education/hands-on science, math etc. The classes will rotate so will really only see them about once a week. I will get to see K every day but it switches between two classes. 2:15 - 3:00 I will teach a 7th grade class. I will be teaching about current events/how to read a map. They rotate every semester. Not sure how to drag out how to read a map over 9 weeks. Not to mention I can't even read a map myself so this should be very interesting. I have a lot of learning to do myself! LOL Guess I will see how everything goes!
***Sorry to vent. I am happy, but then I am not. I once the kids actually show up it will get better. It just stinks really bad that I didn't get the other position and someone that just graduated did. I mean I have experience subbing and working as an aide the last two years and she doesn't.

Everything happens for a reason Lisa. You are going to make a difference to at least one of those kids you will be working with. Someone needs you there, doing what you will be doing, to make a difference in their life. Thats what I believe. Congrats girl! This is such exciting and wonderful news!!
