If you had a d & c....How long did you wait?...How long did your dr. say?

How long did you wait after your d & c to start ttc again? Did you ovulate soon after or did it take a long time?

How long did your dr. advise you to wait?

My dr. said after my first af we could try again, but he also said the waiting is to date the pregnancy and make sure it's not left over from the loss. He feels your body will not get pregnant until it's ready. After my first loss my af did come for 3 months and we got pregnant again on the first try, but then lost that one too. The first time I had bleeding for 2 months, but this time only light spotting/bleeding for about 2 weeks. My dh and I don't really want to prevent at all, even for a month since we do really want to become pregnant again. I decided to stop preventing, but I am having mixed feelings about it.

I took an htp and it is negative now but my opk's have been positive the last two days. I wonder if I'm ovulating now or if my hormones are screwy and giving me false positives....any ideas about this?

I started to TTC right away...I had to have a 2nd D&C a month after my first one, but then got my first AF about 3 weeks after that and got pregnant that cycle...My doctor told me it was fine to TTC right away, and that I wouldn't get pregnant if I wasn't ready....With a D&C i'd probably wait to actually try till you get your first AF since your body is so messed up...I didn't prevent, but I also didn't really try till I got AF.

I have no idea about the OPKs.

My dr said to wait 2 cycles. My first AF showed about 5 wks after my D&C. It's now been a year & we haven't gotten pg but really that's not a HUGE surprise since I need MA to get pg to begin with.

My OB said to wait one cycle, my regular doctor said to wait 3 cycles. We had decided to wait 1 cycle, but it ended up being an 11 week cycle, and we decided to try right away (although we didn't get pg).

I would say that if your hpt is negative and you are getting positive OPKs that your body is trying to ovulate. It may or may not happen, but it's possible that you will ovulate. Good luck!
