I haven't posted awhile since I have been so sick. To give you a little bit about what has been happening. I had a m/c at 8 weeks. The baby only lived for 6 w 3 days. I had a d&e on 8/3. The surgery was a long surgery because of my tilted uterus. The surgeon yesterday said it was a complacted surgery. The doctor said that my uterus is really tilted and has a little curve. She said the baby was tucked all the way in the corner. I didn't have any bleeding after the surgery. I have been in pain since the surgery. I ended up in the hospital on 8/7 through 8/9 for pain. The ER doctor said I had a infection. They did a ultrasound in the ER and it showed a pool of blood in my uterus. I started bleeding on 8/7 and bleed heavy for couple of days. I had my two week check up with my surgeon yesterday and I told her that I am still having pain. I am having serve cramping and stabing pain. I am still bleeding on and off. Sometime's the blood is bright red and sometimes it is like a watery red. Sorry if I tried asking my doctor if this was normal and she really didn't answer me. Does anyone know if it is normal to still have pain and still be bleeding like I am having.

Can anyone tell me when my regular period will begin again? I asked my doctor and she really didn't give me and answer.

At least she is starting to check my HCG levels to make sure they are going down.

Ladies I am sorry if this is . I just don't know where else to turn. We want to start trying as soon as we can again.

I'm sorry you are having such a rough recovery from your D&E I didn't have any issues with bleeding and pain after my D&C, but I just wanted to say that if you aren't comfortable with the way your doctor is treating you, you should get a second opinion. I put up with a doctor I didn't like for way too long after my m/c and it really wasn't worth it.

You can expect a period anywhere from 4 weeks to 8 weeks after a D&C (I'm assuming a D&E would be the same?). That said, some people will have to wait longer (I didn't get my first one for 11 weeks after my D&C). It's good that your doctor is following your hcg down. You will probably be able to expect a period within 2-3 weeks of reaching negative (some people will ovulate after reaching negative, and some will just get a period right away).

Good luck with the rest of your recovery.

I had a very (VERY) similar experience with my recent D & C. I also have a tilted uterus, but apparently that was not a huge factor with this surgery. I had bleeding, cramping, and pretty intense pain for almost 3 weeks after. I went to the ER as well, with blood pooling. They called it a "lazy uterus," meaning that it wasn't contracting regularly to get rid of the blood. It therefore would pool and then finally gush out when it overloaded the uterine walls. Mine was not completely lazy, as I was passing clots and blood almost the whole time. But apparently it can happen that there is no bleeding because of the uterus. Thankfully, my doc was very in-tune with what was going on and I felt like he was keeping good tabs on me.

He told me at my 3 week after-appt (because of the bleeding, I went late) that I could expect my period anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months from the end of the bleeding. He said either way is considered very normal and healthy.

I agree with the previous answer, that you should find a new doc ASAP if you are feeling uncomfortable or un-cared for. This is an important part of reproduction (despite a sad one) and you want to be sure you have a supportive and knowledgable doc.

**I should add that I don't have any real answers in regards to the period. I had my surgery on July 20th and have not gotten a period back. I don't expect it for a while, with the bleeding recently stopping.

I honestly don't know if the bleeding is normal. For me I bled like a period then some spotting... all in all about 10 days. I then started AF in about 5 wks after the D&C.
