Erica.. HUGS.. You have to relax... right now. Your numbers may very well be doubling.. But since you lost one of the twins.. your numbers will not double from the original blood draw... I know how nerve racking it can be.. but you have to look at the BIG picture... If your number was 20... than 60 with twins... and you lost one... than you number will maybe 80-100.... not 220. So it will look like your numbers are not doubling from the original number.. but they are for one baby.
Make scense??

I agree with Kary and wanted to add that once your numbers get to a certain point the doubling time decreases. They are still increasing and are looking good as standalone numbers. Try and stay positive - and if you can't we will all stay positive for you!

I'm not tired of you! Kary's theory makes a lot of sense. I wish you didn't have to be in this hell!

*big hugs*
I like the other girls support Kary's theory.
Waiting for U/S and beta tests are horrible.
Stick baby. Grow baby!

Erica, don't think the worst. I remember reading somewhere when I was pregnant that the 48 hours doubling time is only for early pg (like up to a hcg level of 2000 or 3000), then it increases to 72 hours (up to 10000 or 15000) and after that the doubling time is unimportant and you should just tell by u/s. I will try to find where ever I read that and post a link for you.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for your u/s.
ETA: Here is what I found on a quick search.
* For HCG levels <1200 mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is 48-72 hours.
* For HCG levels 1200 to 6000 mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is 72-96 hours.
* For HCG levels >6000 mIU/ml, the expected doubling time is >96 hours.
I got that at this link: Pregnancy Tests
According to that, your doubling time is great! I hope you have a great u/s Tuesday!

Hey Erica...I am so not sick of you....I always look to see if you have posted to see how you are doing. I agree with Kary's theory...it makes sense to me too. Dont lose hope just yet....we are all pulling for you and baby bean! Keep your chin up! Your numbers did go up quite a bit .....wow! Hang in there!
Hey Erica....I just put your numbers and days into the hcg calculator here on JM and they say that you are doubling every 58 hours.....and I did it twice to make sure I wasnt mistaken....so??? Were you wrong in something you told us or were you maybe wrong in your own calcs? Cause if you if this is right then your doubling time is beautiful Erica! Hang on to hope....I think there might be more than you think!

Erica, make sure to read Nicole's post above - I have read the same, that once your HCG is up there, it doesn't have to double within 48 hours. So at this point you really don't have to worry about that. I'm sure the u/s will be great!!

I read somewhere that at 5-6wks you should no longer go by HCG numbers but by ultrasound for growth. I never had my numbers drawn more than twice but yours look great to me.

You have to remember the HCG numbers you guys are posting is for a singleton, with twins these numbers are not accurate. And the HCG numbers are used until the 6-7wk time period. And than the U/S is used for the progression of the pregnancy. But Erica's situation is a little different. HUGS

I agree with Kary....since you lost the one baby your numbers would double much slower....hang in there Erica....try to keep your hope up!

I hope you get lots of good news tomorrow at your ultrasound. I do know that at a certain point the doubling time takes longer than 2 days. Have you asked your doctor's office what their take on the numbers is? I was so worried about mine back in the beginning and they said they were fine. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and looking for an update. Good luck and hang in there.

Hi Erica please hang in there! I wouldn't base everything on those numbers... my perinatologists said at a certain point the numbers will slow down doubling time. The doctors will keep a close eye on you and go from there. Please try to relax as much as you can and take it one day at a time. (sounds so cliche` I'm sorry) Wish I had more comforting words and advice, support to give you!

Erica you had already gotten lots of good advice but I just wanted to say I'm not sick of you either, vent any time!
PS- are you talking to the ladies in the PAL forum? I'll bet you will find lots of understanding there since they have all been through a loss.
