I still haven't started bleeding heavily or anything, I've just been spotting since my appointment where we found out it was an empty sac 2 weeks ago... I don't know what they're doing today, but I have a feeling it'll involve scheduling a d&c, which at this point I'm fine with and actually want, but also very nervous for as I'm absolutely terrified of procedures/surgery/etc. I hate even going to the dentist.
I'm also scared to even go back to my office just because of all the negative associations I have with that place :/ Both of my appointments there for this pregnancy were bad news, and it's kind of created an aversion in my mind.
How long was the recovery for you ladies that have had them? How long does the procedure take? I go to school monday, wednesday, fridays and I really would like to not miss any class as it's my last semester and I have a very full load. I get really stressed when I have to miss class or get behind for any reason, so I know that would just make the stress of this whole situation worse.

UPDATE:
Thanks for the responses. The whole appt took maybe 10 minutes. She basically said expectant management wasn't working and at this point a d&c would be a good option. I have a pre-op on Monday and then I'll probably be going in on Thursday. It's nice to know what's going on now and that I can look forward to it all being over after next week. She said the procedure itself takes maybe 10-15 minutes and that by the next day I should be fine.
She also said that this didn't have anything to do with me or my partner's sperm/ovum and that it was a random occurrence, which definitely makes me feel better. We plan on ttc immediately after so knowing that definitely makes me feel a little bit better :]

My recovery was really quick. The procedure itself only takes about 30 minutes, but with prep and everything, you should plan on being at the hospital about 3-4 hours. I was up, around, and feeling pretty much fine physically the next day. It was my emotional recovery that was a little rough. Good luck at your appointment.

HUGS... I am so sorry that you are going through this.. I had a D/E back in Feb 2009.... I was in the Hospital for pre-op at 10 and was home by 3. I had only spotting at the hospital when I got up to leave. I called the Dr on Sat. (the next day) Because I had no spotting or bleeding. And he told me that was perfectly normal... I was concerned since I had read other ladies posts about bleeding. I had no cramping, and felt better.. since when I went in for the procedure I was still having all pregnancy syptoms.. Horriable ms, sore bbs.. and when I came out of surgery all the syptoms were gone. The one thing that did happen was after my first AF (which took 35 days to return)... It took about 5 months for my body to get back to normal.. I had pretty crappy AF's.. and alot of pelvic pain.. during the months to follow.. on the 6th month I was pretty much back to normal, and we concieved again on the 7th month. (which I m/c again.... testing found I have a clotting disorder.. so not to scare you)

Please KUP on how you are doing.. HUGS

I'm glad that she was able to reassure you a little, and that it sounds like you won't have to interrupt your schedule for your D&C. Hugs.

I'm also glad that she was able to reassure you a little.
I had a D&C, the recovery is fast, I bleed for about 2 weeks, not very heavy.

Good luck. I have had two horrific natural miscarriages and one D&C. Physically, the recovery from the D&C has been easier. It has only been two weeks since my loss. I know you are supposed to take it easy but I had a quick shopping trip the night of my procedure. I was a little slow because of the anesthesia though and was not allowed to drive for 24 hours.

I am sorry to hear about your loss but hope the procedure goes well.
