My PP bleeding lasted about 9 days, including some spotting for a few days. We haven't BD'd too much, but enough that a pregnancy could happen. I have normally 25 to 28 day cycles depending when AF ends. (3 - 5 days) When would it make sense to test, or even expect AF?

I would count the first day of PP bleeding as day 1, then start testing around where you normally would for an average cycle, and test every 2-3 days if BFN but no AF. Or just wait until Day 30 or so and see if AF comes first, if you want to save your tests.

My first AF after my first (6 wk) m/c came right on time. Lots of people's cycles get a little out of whack from a m/c though. If there's no medical reason to catch a preg as early as possible (i.e. no early monitoring or medical intervention would be needed in your case), I would just play the wait-and-see game until AF was like a week late. That's just me though.

Thank you both. I'll give my body a while longer before I start testing for sure.

My OB said the PP bleeding that happened after Matthew was born didn't count really. Though it'd be possible to get pregnant before a real AF he said it wouldn't go like a normal cycle would- for instance, Matthew was born (23 weeks) 7/1, bled until 7/21 and then got AF 8/7. For me, this cycle is being weird- CD 26 and no confirmed O yet though it possibly was yesterday. I think the further along you were the more difficult it can be from what my OB said.

For me, I didn't O until 14 days after I got a negative test. If I went by bleeding as the first cycle day, then my next AF didn't come for 34 days. I would say wait except that I can't do it myself.
