On Tuesday I emailed Dr. Lyons (the Dr who deals with my endo), because I have been having a lot of pain which I think is related to my endo. (Hes so great I got an email back less than 4 hrs later) He told me that he wanted me to make an Apt with my OB asap to get an US, and also to discuss a more aggressive approach to getting pregnant. I have an apt tomorrow with a new OB within the same practice.

Is clomid typically the first step in TTC when you go the medical route?

Do you have to get a work up first before starting clomid? (my insurance wont cover anything like that)

How are you monitored while on clomid?

Can you guys think of anything I should ask this is a whole new ball game for me.

Thanks

Honestly, I went in, showed my ob my charts. And she called the diabetic nurse to make sure my numbers were appropriate and prescribed me clomid. She said do 50mg for one month, if I don't get pregnant go up to 100, and we got pregnant that month. She did not monitor at all.

Every doctor is different. My doctor doesn't really monitor me on Clomid. The first month she did an ultrasound to make sure I had good follie growth and then did CD 21 BT but now its kind of just here is your clomid call me when you get pregnant Depending on alot of things they may not put you on Clomid. They might try Femara or they might suggest other things to get the ball rolling. I Hope they can come up with a plan that suits you and you get your BFP soon!

Clomid is usually the first step but clomid can aggravate endo - which would be counter productive. From what I understand, injectable meds are much easier on your body then clomid. The last thing you want to do is make your endo worse (I have endo too and have constant pain from it).

But this IS exciting! I hope you find yourself pregnant VERY soon! How nice that you have doctors who are so willing to work with you.
