I am so nervous about this. I've been anxious and excited to meet this new doctor and discuss a TTC plan regarding blood thinners and my recent m/c. I'm so nervous because I'm afraid of the worst. I'm afraid he'll tell me he can't handle my risks and won't be supportive of me getting pg again. I'm trying to stay positive but I'm such a worry-wart. DH says worrying is my favorite hobby!

Try not to worry. I'm high risk when I get pregnant and if the OB can't handle it, he just refers me somewhere else and I just go there for my regular OB stuff. I hope you get really good news and won't have anything to worry about anyway.

Thank you ladies! I sat in that waiting room FOREVER! It was actually just an hour but it was totally worth it. I, of course, went in expecting to hear, "you're getting too old, your clotting issue is too dangerous, don't have any more kids." He didn't say any of that. He agreed that I shouldn't be on Coumadin at all while ttc and wants me to stay on Lovenox. I'm so excited about that because coumadin is such a bad medicine and I'm not comfortable ttc while on it. He told me to wait 2 cycles before ttc again and I asked why and he sait, "to grieve. you just lost your baby and you need to grieve for it. I have 70 and 80 year old patients that had m/c's and they still feel that loss." I told him my MIL, who has 8 kids, also had 3 losses and it still makes her sad. He said, "That's a mom for you. Only a mother can know that pain." I, of course, started crying at that point. He was just so great and supportive. He never gave me any indication that I was too much of a risk. He said he's taken care of many, many patients like me. He is really so soft spoken and looks directly into your eyes when talking and listening and he's very sincere. He told me 3 times how sorry he was for my loss and looked genuinly saddened by it. It really threw me off and I almost forgot my questions. Anyway, I'm happy with him and happy the way the day went! DH and I agreed that right now we're NTNP. If I get pg, then I do and it's God's plan for us.

That's the probably the nicest, most gentle doctor I've ever heard of. I'm so glad you have someone so supportive. I'm really happy things went well. I was worried for a minute there.

Great update! Is your new doctor a Hematologist/Oncologist? Mine is so gentle and caring, I think it comes from working with so many cancer patients.

FWIW - I am 35 yrs. old and have Protien C and Protien S deficiency, as well as MTHfR A mutation. I am on Lovenox right now and will switch to Heparin at 36 weeks. On top of all that I have Hashimoto and Celiac. I have a lot more Dr. appointments than other women but so far I am doing great.

Feel free to PM if you have questions or concerns.

Kat.

Thanks Kat! He's actually an OB/GYN. I had made this appointment with him when I got my BFP and once I m/c, I just decided to keep it and discuss my issues with him to see how he would handle treatment. He's a new doctor for me because my old one doesn't take my insurance anymore. =(
