I had the d&c yesterday morning and it went pretty well. In and out very quick, no extra bleeding as they thought might happen. The problem was with the IVs. I have very small veins and it took them a good 25-30 mins to get them both in. After surgery the dr comes in and tells me it didn't look molar! (Which I'm confused about, because what else would those things in my uterus be on the ultrasound?) I won't know for sure until my follow up in two weeks.
I get home and I'm only spotting and having no pain, but then I start to spike a fever. It gets over 101 (which is when I was supposed to call) even after taking tylenol. So I go to the emergency room and they draw even more blood (at this point, my running tally was 7 wounds on my arms lol) They do a bunch of ultrasounds, a chest x-ray, a urine analysis, and give me a shot in the butt of antibiotics, an rx for more antibiotics and tell me it MIGHT be left over tissue which would require another operation(please, god, no.) or just blood in my uterus. The discharge info said diagnosis was fever & endometrisis. The second part of that I'm confused about? I looked it up and it said it means tissue outside of your uterus? Well if so, they never mentioned this to me or anything. I was told to call my dr this morning and I have another appointment scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
I'm honestly worried about having to have another surgery. While this one went okay, it certainly wasn't something I want to repeat. I get anxious just thinking about it.
And the good news is my dad & step-mom drove all the way down yesterday! So they're in town for a couple days which is nice, especially since my boyfriend works full time so I'd be alone all day otherwise.

Glad your D&C went well and you're not in any real serious pain. Sorry to hear about the fever & scariness of it, you did just have some trauma to your body and you definitely need to REST, REST, REST take your tylenol or ibuprophen (which I think works better) to reduce any inflammation or pain.

Don't be too frightened.... I do want to say that don't put allot into the "discharge diagnosis" because it doesn't nessicarily mean you have endometriosis. They aren't obstitricians, kwim. Your OB's will be the ones to find that out especially since they just did a D&C on you they will have had a better look inside instead of what an ER doc's discharge diagnosis. (I've had an ER doc tell me this himself, they have to discharge with a diagnosis and recommend follow-up with PCP or OB)

Glad you came and updated, was wondering how things went.... glad you're safe and home now. Take it easy there honey!

I am sorry for all you are going through... Try to relax as much as possible with your parents in town. If they offer let them do things for you. Big Hugs.

So glad your D&C went well but sorry you had to go to the ER Celena's right about the ER docs- trust what your OB says, not what they say. Most ER docs are great for trauma and surgical issues (other than OB/gyne related). Try to relax this weekend and KUP on your appt on Tuesday.

I'm glad things went well and your doctor doesn't think it's molar! I'm sorry your dealing with this mess afterwards...I agree, I wouldn't put much faith into what the ER doctor's said...I've BTDT, and i'd trust your OB over them...GL and I hope your feeling better soon!!!

Thanks for the update!!!! I have been thinking of you and hoping that things went well. It sounds eventful and like a lot to absorb, but the fact that it may not be molar is very promising!!!! I'm sorry the IVs were messy and the fever came, but I'm really glad for you that your folks are in town to keep you company. It's not a good time to be alone all day... you need to get spoiled and looked after for awhile after your ordeal!

Wishing you luck with a firm diagnosis that bodes well for TTC asap......... keep us updated...

I hope your appointment on Tuesday goes well, and the OB is able to ease some of your concerns!

I'm glad things went well with your D&C. Glad to hear there wasn't a lot of bleeding. And what a blessing to hear it may not be a molar.
