Hello girls. I really haven't been around lately--and here's why. Almost two weeks ago I got bitten by a black widow, and was miserable! I had to go to the doctor every other day for monitoring, and IV antibiotics. But when I wasn't at the doctor I was in bed. Everything hurt! So the doctor kept me pretty heavily medicated and I (kind of ashamed to say it--) pretty much slept the entire time. Today is the first day I feel somewhat human again. I can at least type without it hurting now.

The doctor told me not to ttc this cycle and possibly next. I guess the venom can cause m/c's in early pregnancy and pre-term labor in late pregnancy. No good. But i'm also kind of worried because I'm pretty sure I ovulated right before the bite and DH and I bd'd for it. Sooooo, i'm really on the fence right now. I want that BFP, but at the same time I don't because if I get it and m/c I won't ever be sure if it's from the bite or whatnot. So i'm kinda driving myself a wee bit crazy.

On the other note: I had a lot of catching up to do with the posts, so I figured I'd put that in here:

This board, is something else entirely. That common bond that we all share is unbelievable. I have never seen, or heard of another one quite like this one where while we may not know each other face to face, it has the power to help heal--to do things that sometimes even family cannot. While this may not be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, it is certainly the path that leads to it. I have gone back quite far in the posts and read posts from other members who do not post here anymore--and also posts from the graduates section and the percentage of the members who got their pot of gold, their miracle is outstanding! It has shown me to never give up. There is always hope. And while we may have been in dark places once (perhaps still are a little bit) there is light. And you girls help everyone see that. So, I just wanted to say thank you. This board has given me more than just a place to heal, it's given me hope.

Amy! I was wondering what happened to you! And I have to say that I never imagined it was a black widow bite! I'm glad you're feeling better, though. That is crazy! Sleep as much as you need to, and get back on the road to recovery!

Wow, glad you are ok! I have no advice on the BFP thing, i guess just wait and see what happens...

Oh wow! I'm so sorry you got bit! That's terrible. My roommate a few years ago got bit by an unknown type of spider while she was camping. She was going pee and got bit right on her who-ha! She's fine now and it's funny but at the time it was pretty bad!

You're right about this board. I haven't been here long but it is an amazing place.

Wow, CRAZY about that black widow!!! Don't feel guilty about sleeping all the time... man oh man, that's nuts. Glad you'll be 100% soon enough.

And I couldn't agree with you more about this board. Absolutely a gift that I found my way here. I am so thankful for the community and the caring and understanding that exist here. Including you, my fellow ectopic survivor!

Hugs! I am so sorry you got bit by the spider! I hope your recovery is quick so you can start TTC again soon. And I agree with you about this board. I came to this board after my first loss and I never would have imagined that I was going to find a family. I have been through so much and these ladies have helped me through it all. We have been here to celebrate the BFP & Births of babies and we have been here to grieve the losses as well. These ladies here welcome everyone with open arms and we all share a common bond here.
