Hi everyone,
For those that had a D&C how did you feel physically after the surgery? I feel different this time than last and wanted some input. Last year the day after I felt crampy and tired but I did not feel pregnant anymore. It is like all of the symptoms of pregnancy disappeared. My bb's did not hurt, I felt no morning sickness, my stomach was soft again. Today my bb's still feel on fire and my stomach is sort of hard and I feel a little bit of nausea (but not a whole lot).
Am what I am feeling this time normal or should all symptoms have gone away?
Thank you girls!

All my syptoms went away like your first one. You can always put a call into your Dr. Just to ask if this is normal.
HUGS.... xoxoxoxoxo Love ya!

Missy, some of my symptoms went away right after my D&C, but others did not, and I swear I could still feel my uterus 3-4 weeks afterwards. I'm not sure what's normal, but I did have hcg in my system for a long time after my D&C (they did an u/s and said there was no retained tissue, it just took forever for my levels to go down). Like Kary said, it doesn't hurt to call your doctor and see what's normal (according to them at least), and maybe they will follow your hcg down to baseline. It sucks that there is no 'normal' and we always have to worry

Missy I am still have nausea and my bbs still are killing me That is one thing that is making this harder because I FEEL pg even though I know I'm not. I asked the doctor about this today and she said sometime it takes our bodies a little while to catch up and I may not feel normal until my levels drop some. HUGS! I totally know how your feeling though!

Katie & Missy:
I convinced myself that there must be another baby in there or something, and they missed it, and I was still pregnant and there was still hope. They drew my levels to baseline. For me, I think it was a strange part of coping. But they also did an endometrial biopsy and stuff... that was awful! Anyway, I'm one of those people where I call my doctor obsessively if need be. If I'm concerned, they see me. It's kind of nice my OBGYN will cater to my whims... I think that's the easiest part for me. Everyone else in the office was very insensitive but my actual OBGYN can be pretty okay. Hope you're feeling better soon...

ok thanks so much, it sounds like the symptoms can be like that. I know just before the D&C my betas were way up to over 40,000 so this may be the difference. I have an appointment on Thursday for a blood draw to make sure they are going down but my doctor is so flexible they will let me come in on Monday if I want to.
Thanks for your help!

Hey honey,
I didn't have a d&c with any of my losses, but I definitely still had symptoms after I miscarried or was given the metho injections. Bb's bigger, still sore, abdomen still bloated, nausea, the headaches... it took a while. But I also didn't have surgery, so I don't know how to compare it really. Sorry I'm no help :-/
tho definitely bring it up to your doc, or even call the triage line over the weekend to check jic

Yep, I agree too... talk to your dr but I think it sounds normal. Everyone's different. For me I never had pg symptoms & felt fine after the D&C. I didn't feel pg anymore but I didn't hurt either. Though the one peculiar thing that I did feel was sore BBs. It kinda felt like my milk was coming in so I jumped on the pg loss board & found out that is common. But the reason I really noticed it was b/c while I was pg my BBs were fine but after the D&C they were a little sore.

Hi sweetie.....I did not have to have a d&c with any of my losses, but you have to remember that your hcg was at least 20,000 if not higher when you had your d&c. That will take a while to leave your system. I don't know if its the hcg that helps give those pregnancy sysmptoms....but I would imagine so.
We can talk later today..... me

I don't think I still had pregnancy symptoms after my D&C...it was a missed miscarriage and the baby had been gone about a week, and I had lost all my pregnancy symptoms, so that might have something to do with it...With my natural miscarriage, I don't think the baby had been gone for very long, and I still had a few pregnancy symptoms for about a week after...Not a lot, but a few...I hope they go away soon!!! (((Hugs)))

I had my milk come in with my first . With my second I did not. I still had symptoms for a couple days with both. Every pregnancy is different. I am so sorry you are going through this. I also agree that calling your dr is a good option if you are worried.

So today I am having large amounts of hair loss. I just touch my head and hair seems to fall out. I just read on the internet that it is common after a miscarriage. It is so strange, I don't remember any of this from last time (maybe I just blocked it all out). I am not worried yet, just babbling.

This is so strange and different than my last loss. My bb's are even fuller and hurt more than when I was pregnant. My stomach is getting a little softer each day. Is it possible for milk to try to come in when you were only 5w+ pregnant?
I took a pregnancy test last night and this morning and totally relieved to find that the lines are getting lighter and lighter which tells me that my hcg levels are dropping. I may just cancel my doctors appointment on Thursday.
We have decided to NTNP for a few months and see what happens. I wish I would stop bleeding so we can resume bedroom activities... It better happen by my wedding day!

I actually had engorgement after my surgery , i was producing alot of milk, maybe due to it.
