I am checking in on this board, making a guestbook for the wedding and DF just dumped about 50 pictures in my lap to scan in the computer
The boys are going out to the movies today and DF is going to watch football in the city with friends.
So what are you doing today?

I'm scouring the house today, i have my surgery on wednesday so I want to make sure the house is as clean as possible. I won't be able to do it for a few weeks and as helpful as DH is, His idea of cleaning is way different than mine is.

I am helping DH with the lawn, then we are going to a movie with my sister and brother-in-law. Then I have to get some writing done for my paper for grad school

Katie - raining out here too!
Michelle - come on over here when you are done. My house needs a good cleaning! With all of the wedding stuff all over the house the board of health is going to condemn my house soon
Nicole - What are you taking in grad school?

I am pretty much just staying home! I have to do laundry, make lesson plans, grade and record papers, pay some bills. I am also going to attempt to workout again today. I started a workout yesterday and couldn't finish it. I can't do a pull up so I use bands on my door. My door was already coming off one hinge b/c the bands don't fit right on the door. I completely broke it yesterday and it is now off both of the hinges. It about fell on me while I was sitting in the floor. I guess I will just start on day 2 of the workout routine and maybe add some push ups to it since I didn't get to do them all yesterday.
Fun huh!!! LOL
Oh and can't forget to watch some tv in there.

The hinges fell off your door? That is some workout!
I am all excited, I thought it would take all day to scan in these pictures, but my scanner scans in 2 pictures at once and separates them for me! I may have time to do my nails

Missy, I was in a Microbiology PhD program, but I will end up with a Master's instead. I am finishing up my writing from out of town so I can care for my sister. Your scanner sounds amazing
Lisa, that sounds like a crazy workout!
Michelle, I hope the surgery goes great this week!
Katie, it sounds like you have a great day ahead of you!

I talked to my mom today and told her about the baby having no h/b. We hadn't told her or any of our family members that I was pregnant, because we didn't want to deal with it. I pretty much got the reaction that I was expecting and her strong opinion that I'm making the wrong choice by wanting to wait and m/c naturally. She thinks that I'm paralyzed by my fear of a d&c and am going to wind up with a raging infection because I can't get over myself. Other than that it's rainy and chilly here today so the kids and I are having a lazy Sunday.

Missy-glad it isn't taking that long. I wish I had a scanner like that.
Nicole- Hope your paper doesn't take you too long. I always hated writing in school. What movie are you going to see?
Michelle-good luck on all the cleaning. I HATE cleaning and I keep trying to put it off. LOL My place is a disaster right now.
Katie- I hope you have fun at the picnic and hope you enjoy your relaxing day.
Rebecca- Football huh? LOL Do you like football or is it just your dh?
AFM: Still haven't started on anything. I have been on here. LOL Getting ready to get off of here though so I can at least throw a load of laundry in the dryer and one in the washer. Luckily I only have 2 loads of laundry this week instead of 4. Not sure how that happened.
About my workout: the bands didn't fit around the door properly to begin with and it wouldn't close all the way. I used them on the door for about 4 weeks. We opened the door and it came off one of the hinges. Well, I tested it yesterday and pulled on it pretty hard (or so I thought) a few times and it didn't even move the door or anything. I decided to go ahead and use it, sat down in the floor and pulled on it twice and it about fell on me. I didn't think I pulled that hard but who knows. LOL

Missy- Yay for scanning pictures- will you share some with us??
Lisa- Wow, some workout there, huh? Glad the door didn't actually fall on you! I need to start working out- I need to lose my "baby weight" before I get some again! Oh, and since you have less laundry than you thought, wanna do mine?
Katie- Enjoy the picnic! Hope you don't get soaked! I wish it would rain here.
Nicole- Hope you enjoy the movie! Great reward for writing your paper, right?
Michelle- Hope the cleaning goes well and I will be thinking about you this week
Lori- Sorry your mom's reaction was so harsh. I'm sure she just is worried about you and wants you to stay healthy. My mom had some interesting reactions to health issues of mine throughout the years, too. I'll be thinking about you!
AFM: Jason and I will just be hanging out in the house today and then maybe going to his mom's later to say hi and return some tables and chairs we used a few weeks ago for his birthday BBQ at our house. The 49ers play today and that's Jason's team so I guess that'll be on. I'm really not a football fan, but I'll sit on the couch with him and be on the computer probably and ocassionally pay attention

Lori- sorry to hear about your moms reaction. I think a lot of parents just get worried about some things. I know mine did.

Lori - I am sorry about the way your mom reacted. When my mom heard about my loss the other day her first response was "you should get your tubes tied"... I guess they mean well...
Jacque - They are not fun pictures to share. For the wedding I put together little photo books for the guests and my DF went through all his teenage photo books and got out pictures of him and his friends growing up so I can put them in their books
Lisa - I am glad the door didn't fall on you!
All - I really like this thread. We used to do them more often last year. It is a good way to get to know each other and talk about something other than TTC

Lori - Our Moms must be related. I stopped telling my Mom about anything to do with my health a long time ago.
Lisa - we had the same thing happen but it was the kids pulling on the door. The screws are still not sitting right in the door and we have to get a whole new door to fix it.
Missy - we have a scanner that does that and I wish my Mom would give me pictures of when I was little so I could scan them in. She's afraid I'll ruin them and I don't have any pictures from before I was 16.
I'm being lazy today. I need to start tracing patterns for Halloween costumes but I'm just not feeling it. I doubt I'll get 6 of them done in time anyway. I think I may go to the bookstore today and eat a cupcake. I need a treat.

A tummy time quilt is a blanket you put on the ground to encourage the baby to learn to crawl. The one I'm making has several different textures (flannel, felt, fine cotton), lots of colors and patterns including some animals I will applique, the whole thing is sort of a map with some hills and the ocean and the sun on top, it's going to be 42"x48". I will use heavy-duty coat thread since I expect it to get chewed on!!! She isn't going to find out the baby's sex in advance, so everything is gender-neutral, which I'm sort of a fan of (I have always been a tomboy!).
I'm super excited to make this for my friend. She's extremely crafty and made me so many wonderful handmade gifts over the years, while I was always too busy in school and work to make her anything, but now the tables have turned.
