So tomorrow's it

I have to be at the hospital tomorrow at 11am for my d&c. I really don't know how I feel right now. I went for my pre-admission testing today (blood work and EKG). When I got home DH said that the hospital lab had called and said I needed to come back and have the blood redrawn. When I called them they said I needed to come in and have it redone because of a middle initial.

Turns out my hospital bracelet and the labels on the tubes as well as the hospital computer have my middle initial on it, but the paper that the doctor's office faxed over did not. The hospital's blood bank was the problem. They wanted to be picky over knowing that I was the right person. I was soooo pissed! I complained to the nursing director and told her how ridiculous I thought it was. I can understand if I had a common first and last name and they have many of them in the computer, but I assure you I am the only one in their system with my last name and more than likely always will be. She agreed that they were being ridiculous and that they should have just called the dr's office to verify the middle initial instead of making me come in to have the blood redrawn.

So now I wait for the inevitable. Any prayers you can send my way would be greatly appreciated.

I am so sorry they made you come in twice to get the bloodwork done! That is really ridiculous, and a huge waste of your time (not to mention emotionally difficult for you).

I hope that everything goes well for you tomorrow. The day of my D&C was a rough one emotionally. I hope that you have support from DH and other loved ones, and try to just be easy on yourself and get through the day however you can.

I so wish you didn't have to go through this.

I'm sorry they did that to you. I can't actually believe they made you do a redraw over that!

I like Nicole wish you didn't have to go through this as well, but I guess at least you'll know after it's over that your body is gonna reset itself.

Lori hun I am so so sorry you have to go through this.. I know this isn't the route you wanted to go.. I will be saying prayers for you.. KNow we are all h ere for you, and we will be thinking about you.. I hope you have a quick recovery.. Are they going to do a ultrasound before hand to double check?
