Hi ladies,
I know I started a similar thread some time ago but I'm being more specific with this one and need your help.
On Thursday another u/s confirmed there was no embryo so I have given up hope. My sac has grown so my body doesn't recognize the blighted ovum so I have chosen to induce the m/c. I plan to use the vaginal misoprostol (also called cytotec) on Sunday.
If you have any advice for this process please let me know (were you able to nap/how much blood was there/how was the pain). I was prescribed tylenol 3 and will have those on hand for the pain.

Also, I'm wondering how long it took for your pg symptoms to go away. I have a bad case of morning sickness. My hcg is still up there and going up (was 83,000 last Thursday). So I'm hoping it will ease up soon after the actual m/c..

Thanks!

I had to have cytotec orallly (several doses) and it help get things going that methotrexate didn't... I've also had inserted into my cervix with cervidil gel on the outside of my cervix and it made contractions going, thinned out the cervix as well.

You'' be crampy like a heavy period "mini labor"

With my two natural m/c I wasn't prescribed anything- nothing to help it along a little more quickly, and no pain meds. My third was a d&c because my body just wasn't giving up. I don't have any advice about the cytotec, but I wanted to tell you how sorry I am that you have to go through this again. Great big

I"m sorry for your loss!!! HUGS!!!
I've had a missed m/c at 12 weeks and was given cytotec to induce the m/c, since my body just wasn't doing anything on it's own. (the baby had actually died at 8weeks and I had no bleeding/cramping/or any other symptoms to indicate anything was wrong). I had to take 2 doses. The first time it did nothing, but the 2nd time I started to get painful contractions about 2 hours after I inserted the pills. Stupid me went to a dr. appointment not thinking it was going to work that quickly. I had to breathe through the waves of pain...kind of like mini labor. Then I felt a gush and started bleeding pretty heavily. I soaked through tons of pads in a couple of hours (I don't even know how I made it home). There were a lot of clots as well and as soon as I passed the baby I felt better and the bleeding slowed down. After that it was just like a heavy AF.

Thanks so much ladies for your help and thoughtful words..

I put the pills in 2.5 hours ago. I felt some cramps but not much. But I did take my tylenol 3 at the same time so I don't know if that's just hiding my cramps. And no blood yet. I really hope this works today, I don't want to have to do another dose tomorrow because I'd be home alone. And I want to avoid a DnC..

I had a fetal death due to subchorionic hemorhrage at 8 weeks and I used cytotec vaginally after it was confirmed. I had Vicodin to help with the pain. All in all it wasn't bad. It took about 12 hours to work, and I had some mild to moderate cramping before hand. I took them vaginally around 11 am and passed the baby around midnight that night. I had about 5 days of bleeding and then a few of spotting, and two days after taking it I had an ultrasound to confirm that I had passed the baby and I had. I didn't nap, but I could have in terms of comfort, I just had too much on my mind, as I am sure you understand. It helps to walk around after the first few hours of lying down.

I hope it works for you and isn't too painful.

Thanks MamaRN..

Well I think I passed the sac and other tissue in the evening yesterday. Unfortunately I can't say I got away with being pain-free. I spent a good couple of hours in mini-labour, just basically rolling around the bed in pain. I took my tylenol 3s (about 3 of them in a 6 hour period) but I don't think it helped much or the pain was just too much for it to mask and I was afraid of taking more for fear of overdosing or something.. It was bad, but when the pain stopped I got up, went to the washroom, and saw that I finally began to bleed. Then a few hours later I passed the tissue.
Now I have no more pain (YAY!!) and am just bleeding like a heavy AF.

Thanks again for all your input ladies.
