Hello Ladies, I'm new here. I lost my angel at 8.5 weeks pregnant on August 12th. It has been 7 weeks and still no sign of AF. My question is, my honey and I did start having sex again about 3 wks ago and yesterday I was feeling a little weird so I just went a bought a test. And to my surprise there was a BFP in less than a minute. Could this still be left over hcg from 7 wks ago or is there a chance that I could be preparing for another sweet pea? Please Help!

I'm so sorry for your loss... BUT... you could definitely be pregnant!!! That is plenty of time since the m/c for all the HCG to be gone, this must be a new pg. Get to the doctor, and

By the way, was your loss medically confirmed? You could have had a placenta leak or something, not an actual m/c, so you could still be pg... did you take tests and get BFNs between now and Aug 12?

Assuming you did confirm the m/c and this is a new one... it will probably be a fine normal pg, you just might have to wait until the first u/s to see how far along you are. It could be as old as 5 weeks gestational age if you first DTD 3 wks ago. Make sure your iron levels are good, I don't know if you had much blood loss with your loss, but if you did then make sure you're not anemic! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

I would get in to a doctor to see for sure what's going on. It sounds promising. Congrats!

Thanks Ladies! To Shen7, yes via ultrasound the first week of August I was diagnosed with an abnormal placenta. I was told by a neonatologist that he didn't expect the pregnancy to continue. And a week later via another ultrasound the baby had no heartbeat. I was given the option to pass it on my own or have a d&c. I opted for a d&c. I couldn't imagine walking around still feeling very pregnant knowing what was really going on inside. I was devastated.

Have you gotten your first AF? If you haven't even with having a D/C this could be left over HCG and not a new pregnancy. The only way to be sure is to get the Dr and have betas drawn to see if they are going down (the old pregnancy) or going up.. "Poss" a new pretgnancy.. or it could be a little retaind tissue still giving you a + pregnancy test... and could also make your numbers rise.... Too many variables. I hope you get answers.. KUP.

I agree you should head to the DR just to make sure of what is going on. They can do a blood draw and possibly an u/s to see what is happening. I hope its a new pregnancy.
