I think we need to post a REMINDER about the Private Place Guidelines because of the sudden influx of people requesting the password as well as many posts that could be posted in the main forum of TTCAL...

Also, ladies... we've been, because of the sudden influx of password requests for the "The Private Place" are considering the amount of posts needed & length of time as a member of TTCAL both be upped in order to access it. There have been ladies who are not even a part of TTCAL requesting, big no no. We will automatically deny those

Right now the requirements are as follows: (meeting BOTH requirements)
1) You must be an active member of the TTC After Loss board for 30 days
2) You must also have 150 posts to access this board. Now, you can PM either myself or Kary as to how to gain access... but refrain from doing so if you have not met BOTH requirements.

Also the NEW requirements may change to.... (meeting BOTH requirements)
1) Member must be an active member of TTCAL board for 60 days
2) Member must also have at least 300 posts to access the private forum


I apologize in advance, but the private place is just for that privacy for things that one does not want posted on the main board for fear of judgement, hurt feelings, misunderstanding, avoid drama and so on. It's also a place where generally members who have been here for a while, more than just a month.

We've never had any issues with the Private Place because it is a limited access forum for members that have been a part of this board for some time. Other boards have had issues with their private forums allot of times because the rules &/or limitations are not be adheared to. So, the hosts have to get the password changed. Some members have had their accounts suspended for abuse or drama making. However the integrety of our private place has been upheld as to the careful consideration of those given the password.

There is no offense as to being denied access until the requirements have met, that's just general rule for it. After you've met the requirements, then we will reassess and welcome you to the private forum... appreciate you very much for understanding ladies!

Again a BIG THANK YOU in advance... we have a very sensitive themed board, Trying To Conceive After Loss... a loss, a miscarriage, a pregnancy loss, stillbirth, preterm stillborn... all of which are so devastatingly painful. Emotions run high and sensitivity levels vary as we're each at a different stage of loss and trying. TTC in general is hard and add miscarriage to that can be a challenging, painful journey... can be exciting and wonderful as well... but we're all here together, lift each other up when needed, compassionate words and supportive friendships. We have an AWESOME board! Keep up the greatness ladies!


I also want to suggest that those who DO have access to the Private Place forum be selective as to what you post in there... sometimes if you share your fears or feelings with ladies on the main board you'll find that there are others that feel, have gone thru those same feelings! So it's ok, just a suggestion... some of us are more reserved about our feelings than others, but that is what this board is for. We have all shared a very intimate part of our lives, our greif from our losses and our losses period!

I have to say that I think it's a good idea about the new requirements. People post in the private forum because it's private and don't want everyone to see it.

I'm a relative newcomer and I'm surprised to hear about people trying to access the private place before they've been around very long. I feel like that's a major imposition. I would be happy with the stricter rules too... I'd rather wait longer to "get in" and have it be a more truly private place!!

There's a very long thread in the May 2011 DDC right now about fake users - might be worth a read if you can handle a peek into that forum - not to make anyone paranoid, but this is the internet.

Absolutely!!!

You always have to be on your guard there are some really sick people out there....

There's one specific troll that rolls around here every so often, but has never had a loss! Claims to have had 3, 4 losses but NEVER had a + hpt, nor a + hCG but I won't go into that.

There's people all the time that lie on JM and the hosts have to discuss it or are made aware of it.

Just shows you how sick people are.

I've been on mommy forums/groups since 1998 online, and yes there are a lot of fakes out there...I always try to be careful, and somewhat private about certain things...In one of my old DDC for a long time half of the group thought someone was faking things, and that person was a member of the private area, which made a lot of people really uncomfortable...That person was eventually banned from JM...Just be careful about what you post about your personal life...The other day I was looking something up on google, and a post from JM that I posted a long time ago came up, and it had my photobucket link, with my first and last name in it!!! I am actually going to go change that because it just goes to show that anyone can find anything out about you (Not that I have anything to hide, just things I don't really want people IRL to find out).

I really don't understand why people would make something like that up... it's so mean and hurtful to think there are people like that out there.

It's sick that someone would make that kind of stuff up. Going thru an MC is hard enough without someone making a sick joke of it.
