Hi ladies - I'm both sad and happy to join you on this board, and hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions. I m/c over the weekend and was wondering if anyone could share their experiences...it started with minor spotting on Weds. and Thurs., progressing to bright red bleeding/clots/severe cramps through Sunday night. Yesterday I felt a little "off" and was still bleeding until late in the day when I passed the sac. After that, I physically felt sooooo much better and the bleeding has been tapering off ever since, with no more cramps. Is this the worst of it? I have a call into my dr. (who is aware of what was going on over the weekend), and am still waiting to hear back. I would love to know any more info if anyone is willing to share.

Thanks in advance. I'm looking forward to TTC again in the very near future!!

I had to have a D&C with my loss, so I don't have any experience with a natural m/c, but I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry for your loss

All my m/c have been different. With my natural ones I wasn't far along so they weren't bad at all after I passed tissue, it really felt like a bad AF with horrible clotting for me. HUGS! I am so sorry for you loss.

Ditto Katie. I m/ced last week. I spotted Fri, Sat, and Sun, and Sun was starting to be more than spotting. Nothing Mon until evening, then was bleeding. By Tues early morning was very heavy through Friday. Sat tapered off, then Sun only bled when I worked out. Nothing yesterday (Mon) but will wear a pad when I run today. Bad cramping the first Sun through Fri.

I'm sorry for your loss.

With my mc, the worst was before I passed the sac. After that, it was like a regular period and lasted another 7 days. After I passed the sac, I also then had a negative hpt (HCG was 35 the day before). That was a Friday and I went in to the OB on Monday where he did a test (neg) and an ultrasound to make sure I didn't retain anything.

I healed physically faster than I did emotionally. We didn't wait to start ttc either.

With my first m/c at 6 weeks along, it started with several days of increasing spotting. Then I had a day or two of heavy bleeding before passing the tiny sac, and I was passing lots of tissue with really bad cramping from then through day after the sac passed. That was the worst of it, then it was just a heavy period that lasted a couple days longer than normal, with really bright red blood almost the whole time. I think I bled for 7-8 days total, it tapered off towards the end like a period. I was in between medical insurance plans and never saw a doctor about it, just keep taking HPTs until they went negative.

It sounds like you've had a normal natural m/c and the worst of it should be over, but it might take up to a week for the bleeding to stop completely.

I'm sorry you are going through this!!!!!

I had a natural miscarriage at 9 weeks...Mine was very painful, and I had been bleeding for 2 weeks before I actually miscarried...My pain got better after I passed everything, but the next day I did get some cramps, but they only lasted part of the day...I'd just keep an eye on your bleeding...If it picks up and gets heavy again i'd call your doctor (In case you didn't pass everything) or if you feel more pain...I'm sorry for your loss

Thanks you so much for sharing your experiences and your kind words. I am hoping that the worst is over bc the pain on Sunday was unbearable. It really stinks that any of us have had to go through this.

I finally heard from my doctor....at my ER visit on Friday, my betas were 5000 and dropped to 1300 yesterday (which I am guessing is a good thing). She also told me that even though we saw the heartbeat on Friday on the ultrasound, it was not normal and that this was likely an abnormal pregnancy from the start. Doesn't really do much to make me feel better right now, though....

I will have more betas drawn on Monday and then a checkup on Weds. Originally they didn't want to see me until the end of October, but that was NOT going to happen!!!!!!

*Hugs* Sorry for your loss, hun.

I had no pain, but mine was very, very early. Started as spotting the day before then progressed to bright red bleeding and passed clots and the sac and most of the bleeding tapered off after only another hour or two after that. Spotted for 2 days after, then done.

Hi & welcome Toots,

I'm so sorry to hear about your recent loss we welcome you here to TTCAL..

To answer your question, yes, that will be pretty much the worst of the cramps / cramping. You may still have some mild ones and some bleeding still. It varied from woman to woman.

I passed tissue but then had to have a D&C afterwards because there was leftover tissue. I also had an infection that had to be treated. I'm sorry for your loss, and make sure to share whatever feelings you have. Honestly, I'm not feeling so hot right now, and these ladies are helping me thru it and I know we will all help you when you need it.

laura - how did you know there was leftover tissue/infection? Did you have an ultrasound or spike a fever? That is my main concern and what I am most scared of right now. I can deal with the bleeding and cramps (which are really very mild right now, just like the end of AF), but I'm scared of any damage this might be causing internally. I'm going to be 35 in a few weeks (basically a geriatric patient, HA!), and am hoping for a speedy recovery from this craziness.

I'm so glad I found this board.

I wasn't feeling well, I had extreme pain, and I went to the doctor. They did an ultrasound and an endometrial biopsy. I'm sure that I'm the exception and not the rule, because it sounds like most of the ladies here passed it completely naturally.
