To have a very heavy period right after a miscarriage?
With all my bleeding problems in the past, I just can't help but worry...I'm on CD 3, and yesterday it was really heavy, and seems to actually of picked up today...I just don't know if it's normal, or if I should be worried or what...I'm going through a super plus tampon, and part of a pad every 30-40 minutes...I was having really bad cramps too, but today that seems to have gotten better (so far any way)...I just hope this is normal, and not something going bad.

If you are concerned Megan I would call your Dr and ask... I don't know much about it after what you have had going on, but it sounds really heavy and you don't want to loose to much blood.. Mine have never been so heavy I was replacing a pad and tampon that often.. Definitely check with them hun.,

Well I have heavy period's any way, this one just seems to be a bit heavier than normal...I think tomorrow if i'm still bleeding heavy i'll probably call...I usually go through a super plus tampon an hour, and in the past less than an hour (at least for a couple days)...My period post D&C wasn't this heavy, but it was heavy....ugh always something to worry about...I'll start taking my iron again just to be safe.

Megan, I so hope that this is just a normal post-miscarriage period for you.
If you are concerned about the bleeding, just call the doctor or go to the ER. You don't want to take chances with your health. There is no harm in getting it checked out. If I was bleeding as heavy as you are, I would probably get checked out.... so please just be cautious, honey!

After my mc, my next period was really heavy but didn't last as long (5 days verses my normal 7 days). If it gets too heavy, I would call your doctor.

I agree with Nicole, no harm in getting it checked. If this is more than usual, I would call the doctor.

Thanks ladies! i'm not using tampons so I can monitor my bleeding more ( gross huh lol)...I'm not soaking through a pad in an hour, so i'm sure i'll be fine...If it keeps up i'll call in...I'm going to wait till tomorrow to see if it slows...I did some reading online and I read that post miscarriage periods can be very heavy, so I hope that's all that's going on.

I've always had heavy first periods after my natural m/c and the paperwork I have from the dr's office says that it's normal to have a heavy period after a d&c, so that's what I'm expecting. I hope that it's just normal bleeding for you and not another complication. You've been through enough!

Actually my period after my D&C wasn't as heavy as this one (my last miscarriage was natural)...I mean my period after D&C was heavy, but nothing out of the norm for me...The thing that got me both times was the CRAMPS, and this time the bleeding too...My bleeding has slowed down a lot! I'm not too worried anymore...I usually have 2 days of heavy bleeding any way.

Hey Megan honey,
After each of my losses my first AF afterwards were always so incrediably brutal and flow was like a faucet I couldn't turn off. I'd soak thru those tampax ultimates and a nighttime thin always with wings pad. (ended up switching to those diaper pads with wings, lol, not really diapers just felt like it)
Oh and they were always super clotty, some more risidual tissues would come out as well.
Whatever you do, keep an eye on it and how you're feeling... if you spike a fever, have more pain than usual I'd call your doc then go to the ER. Also just don't hesitate and call to get checked out either. "When in doubt, get checked out" is one of my sayings lol

Megan I agree with the other ladies... Mine was really heavy after all my m/c's but if your worried with all the problems you've had I would really consider getting checked out. HUGS!

Thanks ladies! it actually slowed down yesterday afternoon, and today it's really light...I guess that's the good thing about having a heavy flow, it never sticks around for long...I think AF will be over friday or saturday...The way it was going yesterday, I thought for sure i'd be calling the doctor today.
