Okay, so I'm on ortho tricyclen lo. My last pill of the pack is Saturday, but AF just showed up. So my question is this: IF we decide to wttc a little longer, should I refill my bcp now and start on pill 1 asap since my period started? Or should I take the last of the inactive pills and just start it when it says I should?

Take it when you normally would. Also look into getting a higher dose. I had this problem with orth tri-cyclen lo... I would always start AF a week early... I was put on YAZ which has the same level of hormone for 3 weeks and than none and AF arrived on time every time...

I always started when it said I should, but when I had problems with break thru spotting/bleeding (which they said was normal?! kiss my butt it is) they would switch me back n forth between pills.

Maybe ask for a different pill or an adjusted dose

I would do what Celena said, ask for an adjusted dose. In the meantime if you want to be safe I would start your next pack a few days early.

thanks ladies, I'll just start when I'm supposed to and see what happens next cycle. Anyway, I'd ask for an adjusted dose if I were going to be on it longer. Since we're ttc in December I won't worry about it.
