hi ladies

so i will probably end up having a d&c next week sometime.

what happens after? how do you feel? did you bleed?

also i want to take bcp after the d&c. when do i start taking it? i want to do this so that i can control that cycle coz if i wait for af to come after the d&c we will wait until next year sometime and i dont think i can wait that long. lol. so ill do a course of bcp and then start the clomid the next cycle.
when do i start taking the bcp?

Hugs! I am so sorry your having to go through this. After my D&C I had some cramping but very little bleeding. And it only lasted 3-4 days. I *think* you would probably start it the day of your D&C or day after but I would check with your doctor to see what they say. G/L And I hope you get your sticky BFP soon.

D&C's are fairly easy...Your put to sleep and don't remember anything afterwards..When I woke up I was a little woosey, and tired, and weak...I came home and rested and felt better that evening...I did have a lot of bleeding after mine, but it's different for everyone...I'm not sure if it depends on how far a long in pregnancy you are...I was 15 weeks, so that might of been why...The good thing about D&C's, is you get it over with quick....good luck!!

I was bleeding for about a week after the d&c but also I only rested for one day before I went back to work and I think that made me bleed more. I got some painkillers for the cramps.

Yes, the cramps afterwards are kind of painful, and mine didn't even start till the next day...I also got pain meds, and that helped.

I bleed for about a week with both of my D&C's. I don't do well with the anesthesia so I sleep the rest of the day and part of the next. I also get woozy. Everyone is different and reacts differently. As for the BCP I would say it would depend on what your dr wants you to do. I would guess that day but they may want something different. I hope you are able to get a BFP quickly.

I wanted to add that I did not go to BCP, I didn't see a point. My doctor did not suggested either

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I had my first d&c last Tuesday (I m/c naturally the first two times). It honestly wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be at all. I was delayed by about an hour because of complications in a previous appt, but the anesthesiologist was amazing and gave me "happy medicine" to help me relax while I waited. They gave me a double dose of the "happy medicine" before they rolled me back to the OR and all I remember once I got to the OR is the doctor sitting there waiting me and the big light. Next thing I knew I was in recovery. I've had very little cramping and haven't had to fill the pain meds they gave me. The bleeding hasn't been any worse than a period, and seems to be tapering off now. I can't answer the bcp question, because we're going to start trying again as soon as soon as AF shows. I hope that everything goes well for you.

im just taking the bcp to regulate the cycle after the dnc. if i dont use the bcp we might have to wait months before the next af which will delay our ttcing plan.

ill speak to my dr about the bcp im sure he'll know all the answers. (duh!) lol

My D&C recovery wasn't too bad. I had some cramping the night of the procedure, and spotting for about 10 days. I don't know about the bcp, but another option to start a period if you're not ovulating is to take Provera. I know a lot of ladies do that before starting Clomid.
