Hi ladies,
Just wondering if any of you could advise as to when I should start temp charting again after my m/c? I know those first few cycles can be kinda wacky, but is it a good idea to get "back on the wagon" ASAP? My m/c was one week ago and the bleeding has completely stopped. I never thought I'd be praying for AF, but I seriously can't wait until she rears her ugly head again.....
Thanks for any advice you can give!

With both m/c I started temping right away to see what was going on. The first time, when I m/c at 6 weeks, I Od on CD23 so I'm happy I charted so I knew what was going on.
You won't ovulate until your hcg is negative, so maybe when you see your tests becoming really faint you can start.. it's really up to you and what you're comfortable with.

Do our HCG levels drop faster after a D&C?

As for HCG levels dropping, I think every m/c is different.
I started temping right away after my D&C, mostly so I knew when to expect AF. I thought it was really helpful, but it's totally up to you.

Lisa - I think they do start dropping faster after a D&C.
I've been testing every few days and my HPTs are still coming up positive (Mother Nature's cruelest trick of all!!!) but definitely getting lighter. I'm getting my third set of betas done on Monday and a checkup on Weds. so maybe I will start after that. The more info I have, the less stressed I am, so it will definitely be good for me to start charting soon.

I started temping right away...more to get back into the habit then anything. I also misscarried last weekend...on Saturday my HCG was down to 7.5 and then my bleeding stopped yesterday so hopefully when I go in on monday my number will be back down to zero.
of course my temps are all wonky because my DH was working crazy hours this week which messed everyone's sleep up. So I have no idea if it will even help me figure anything out.

I would start temping again right after AF shows, especially if you are planning to TTC right away.

First, sorry to the ladies with recent m/c(s). I'm so sorry for your losses.
I tracked bbt after the bleeding stopped, but my OBGYN told me to take a month off. (Two of my OBGYNs have been snotty toward bbt — I don't get it!) I m/c naturally on 9/7 and immediately had 0 hcg bfn. 4 wks after m/c I swear I had stretchy cm. Doc said not to DTD this month, but after seeing that sign, I didn't follow the advice.

That depends.. if everything is evacuated fast in a natural miscarriage then it will be just as fast as a D&C.. but your chances of having everything cleared out in one shot are highest with a D&C so on average I would say yes.
After everything is out, hcg will drop at the same rate. Biochemically it has a half life of 12 hours (I have read) so it should halve every 12 hours..

I would start temping right away! You may start AF before you reach negative. I think I got my first AF when my hcg was like 90 or 50 something. I also believe that you can O before your hcg reaches negative. It helped me get to know my cycles. Which they were all over the place after my m/c. Good luck in whatever you decide.
I had a partial molar pregnancy and b/c of the m/c I had it required me to get my hcg tested weekly til I reach negative. I am a member of a molar pregnancy group and a lady on there was getting weekly tests. She never tested negative and just had a baby the beginning of this month. Her lowest hcg level was 18 and it started going up after that.
