I just started back up with my charting/temping, and i'm finding is so hard to do...I've already forgot a couple of times, and I seem to wake up in the middle of the night and cant fall back asleep because i'm stressed about forgetting to take my temp...I don't know what to do...I guess it doesn't matter right now since i'm not TTC, but I hope thatI can get back in the routine of doing it before next month...Anyone have any good tips? I have my alarm set for the same time every day (even weekends), I also have my BBT right next to my bed...I didn't have any problems before when I would temp, not sure why it's so hard right now.

Hmm you already keep it beside the bed so I don't know what I can suggest - maybe put it right on your alarm? Actually on my cell phone I can record audio and make that my alarm, so if you have something similar you can record your voice saying "TAKE YOUR TEMP, TAKE YOUR TEMP" and that can be your alarm? Kills two birds with one stone!

I also have my phone set to go off. It's an annoying alarm so I will remember what it's for. When I started, I missed a few temps here and there. FF still figured out my O date. I wouldn't worry about missing days. You'll still be able to see a temp shift.

My only problem isn't forgetting, but it's the fact that I wake up at 3am, and stress about it and toss and turn without really sleeping....I didn't have this problem till I actually started temping...I don't trust myself enough to set my clock for earlier and then i'd miss getting the kids up for school...Oh well, hopefully I have another month till I actually need to have a good chart.

I never take my temp at the same time every day. I just do it when I wake up naturally. I figure that since I don't go to bed at the same time every night, getting up at the same time wouldn't be as consistent as they say. And FF has pinpointed my O date fine. Well, this past cycle really confused it but I'm on bcp and not ovulating...lol

that's an awesome idea!

Megan, I tend to take it after DH gets ready to for work and after he kisses me goodbye. It's pretty close to the same time everyday. Takes a little bit to get back into the routine, but I'm sure you will by your next cycle

Megan, if you have three to four hours of sleep before you wake up at 3, you could just try taking your temp then. Some people have a lot of forgiveness in their BBT... I can pretty much take mine anytime and it will still show the right pattern.

This morning was my first morning temping ever. I put the thermometer on the toilet seat cover so I couldn't miss it when I got up to pee LOL

Oh goodness, I think I forgot to take my temperature about every 3rd day the first few weeks I took temps! And now that AF is here, I keep forgetting too (it doesn't really matter right now though...). I wake up in the middle of the night all the time, and I guess I whould take my temp then (to guarantee I slept for 3 hrs), but I usually just do it when I wake up with my alarm anyway. I don't set an alarm on the weekends. ..... I did see a temperature shift during my cycle, which I was excited about! I don't know what exact date, because I didn't temp on vacation, but the temps were higher when I returned!

The routine came to me eventually. Good luck!
