I lost my baby and had a D&C 3weeks, 3 days ago. Yesterday I got a horrible migraine headache and today migraine and very low AF type cramping. (My migraines get really bad just before AF). With my loss last year I remember it taking 5 weeks for AF to show. Do you think it could be the start of AF?
If so I hope she starts today so it doesn't ruin my honeymoon... I went to victoria secret yesterday and got some cute night clothes for my husband! <-- me being selfish
I just calculated and 5 weeks will be right in the middle of our honeymoon... We better get the action going early on!

I don't have any advice for you, because I'm going to be wondering the same thing in the next few weeks. It's been almost 2 weeks since m d&c and I've still got light bleeding. Every time it starts getting light and brown and I think it's ending I wind up with some red again. I find myself wondering how I'm going to have to wait for AF after it does stop. for you Missy. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope this is the start of AF for you and you get a honeymoon baby!

When I had my D & C, I bled for about three weeks afterward...and had my first period only a week after that. So four weeks. But everyone is sooo different! I hope that your period doesn't "ruin" your lovely honeymoon! Totally wear those cute nighties on those first couple nights...make sure you get good use out of them

Thanks girls! My levels were around 40,000 when I had the D&C. I have not been testing regularly, but yesterday I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative.
Thanks for all of your help, I may just have a migraine because I have not been sleeping well.
I appreciate all of your input!

Lynda - I remember that mine were really heavy for the first few months after my loss last year as well. I also remember cramping horribly, to the point I almost went to the ER. I remember posting about it in here and the girls all said it was normal. I can't believe I am still here after all of this time.

I am sorry you still have to be here Missy...I am sorry we are all here, but here we are. At least we have this. It's been good to read this post because I want to have some type of expectation for this week and the weeks to follow. For all of my losses I have never had to have a d&c. Not looking forward to it.
Hope your headache goes away and your honeymoon turns out perfect....

Oh ((Hugs)) Julie. As you know, you are on my mind and in my heart.
For both of my D&C's the physical side of the procedure is easy. With my first I was awake and it was hard because I kept crying and sobbing the whole way through. It did hurt a little but not bad. I don't have insurance and went to a clinic and the doctor there was horrible. With this last one they put me to sleep and I woke up in the recovery room with very little pain. Just mild cramping. I spotted for 3 days and then nothing. Try to get a script for pain meds - something stronger than tylenol/advil. You may not need them but you will be glad you have them just in case.
The emotional end of it all is a mess... but the physical part is easy.

Missy, first I understand the migraines, are you taking anything? The only thing that ever worked on me was Vicoden.
I hope it's AF, so that you can have that honeymoon baby

I have had migraines since I was 16. For me it is genetic, my mom passed them onto me (thanks mom!). I take Fioricet and for the most part it helps, I just don't like taking it because it is a barbiturate and addicting. Vicoden works great for me as well but is an even stronger drug than what I take and the doctors won't give it to me.
This is so selfish but I am not thinking about a honeymoon baby. My husband and I always have awesome vacation "bedroom activities" and I don't want that hindered by AF! I know selfish...
Now for the past hour it feels like I am ovulating... Our bodies are so crazy and unpredictable after a loss.

I don't know if my are genetic in any way, since I am the only one (alive) in my family that suffers from them, but I have to say after having ds (sorry if this is sort of insensitive ) I had 1 or 2 in 20 months, so I'm happy.
Where are you guys going on your honeymoon?

My AF showed up 26 days after my M/C (I took cytotec and had 6 days of bleeding the day after). It was a little heavier than normal, but nothing terrible.

In what way are you being insensitive? Girly, I have really tough skin and there is not a whole lot that REALLY gets to me. You can talk about your son in my posts whenever you want to. Remember, I have 3 teenage boys and they are the love of my life. I love babbling about them
For you it could be that your hormones changed after giving birth (in a positive way) and balanced your body out. My worst migraines come just before AF. They get so bad that it hinders life for me at times. My husband can't believe how strong I am through them, he says if he had to deal with the pain I do he would be bedridden. But, I don't have a choice. There is a big world out there ready for me to explore, there is too much fun stuff going on for me to give in to pain!! I get at least 1-2 migraines a week.
We are going on a 8 day cruise to the Caribbean - We leave on Saturday and I am soooooo excited!!! (Thanks for asking!)
