We found out in Sept that my hubby has a low count (on top of my problems). He is having surgery Oct 14th to correct a varacocele. The surgery has a high success rate, but it will take months for his count to normalize. In the mean time the longer it takes for us to get prego the less of a chance we have because of my endometriosis. Before we found out why dh had a low count, we made an apt with an RE (per my dr). Hubby still wants to keep that Apt. What do you all think?

Insurance wont cover the apt so we will be paying out of pocket. Do you think we should wait? or just go to see what they have to say?

Thanks

HUGS... My DH had the same issue!! His SA came back BAD... The RE even told him he didn't know how he had gotten me pregnant the 3 times he did. And that we due to his count, mobility and morphology we should do IUI. And was also given the option to fix his varicocele. But since we had gotten pregnant three times, we decided to wait.

We did clomid.. on third round.. twins.. so much for his SA.. huh?

I often wondered if it was because "Stage fright" Since they did say we could do a repeat on the SA.

Good Luck.. HUGS

I know my Dh had "stage fright". On top of all of that he was really stressed out, with the miscarriage, our first foster son left, and my hubby is in grad school.

My Dh's count is really low, 6 million with 40% motility. His varicocele is a grade 3.

So you took the clomid without doing IUI?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Congrats again on your little girls!!

Honestly, if you can afford it, I would say go and see what they have to say. Is the appointment before dh surgery?

I don't know how much my opinion would matter since I'm indecisive and would have to weigh the options of each... if it were me I would probably go ahead with the surgery first and see where that takes us. At the same time I would contemplate the appt as well esp if you want to move things along a little bit faster.

It all depends on where you are and what you want to do... how you would like to go about it all or not.

Sorry I'm not much help

If I didnt have endo i would be fine with waiting for Dh's count to go back up. I am just so worried my endo is going to grow back, and I will need another lap.
