hi ladies...

well i just miscarried last friday, 09/24/2010 and i just stopped bleeding today. me an dh were devastated. i was 9 weeks along and was really looking forward to another bundle of joy. heres a recap of what happened...

wed. 09/22/2010 went to the er because i was really sick, peeing all night long, and having brown discharge. dr told me i had a bladder infection and not to worry about the discharge because its totally normal. started peeing blood that night but i thought it was the bladder infection not the baby.

fri. 09/24/2010 i went to the er because i was bleeding more than i should have been and cramping a little also. did an u/s and was told there was no baby just the sac. i was devastated. once i went home i started miscarrying immediately. i had terrible contraction like pains for a few hours and im pretty sure i passed all the big clots that night.

i just completely stopped bleeding today and me and dh are ready to try again. how long does it take to get pregnant after a miscarriage? when will i ovulate again and when can i start testing opk again? i think the hardest part is that we already told everyone that we are expecting

please any advice will be helpful..thank you

It depends on the person when it comes to how long it will take to get pregnant again. I did not ovulate right away. I had a period 30 days later (after my hcg level was 0) and I started using opks after my period stopped. I am very sorry for your loss.

It really depends on your body. My losses were very early, but they were in a row. This pregnancy was conceived after two back to back losses. I Oed about on schedule, but I do have pretty long cycles (40 days or so).

I also just miscarried, 9/29/10 and am so ready to start again. My doctor suggested waiting at least 2 cycles so my body to get back on track. I feel like those 2 months are going to last a lifetime though!

Best of luck ttc!

We didn't wait to TTC and I O'd about 2 weeks after my hpts were negative. I started using OPKs as soon as the bleeding from the miscarriage stopped. My cycles have been longer since then so it does take some time to get back to normal but I didn't want to wait. I hope you aren't here long.

I am not waiting either Rebecca. We are NTNP until AF starts then going to try right away. I don't understand why doctors say wait 2 - 3 cycles. My doctor and 2 nurses said we could try right away. They said to wait until AF shows helps with dating but there was no medical reason to wait. As Kary puts it "If your body isn't ready to get pregnant it won't"... Now the emotional part is a whole different story.

((Hugs)) Girls. Hang in there, this is really hard for all of us.

Hey
I am so sorry for your loss .. As the others have stated it depends and varies on each person . Some women get pregnant again before they get their first perios, some take awhile . I do not typically O on my own and had to go on the nuvaring birthcontrol to regulate my bleeding .. My first real period came about 3 weeks after my 2nd D&C, by day 28 I had a BFN So I started taking provera and am about to start trying in eactly 2 days . My loss was 4 months ago now.. It still hurts just as much as it did but I handle it better .. I like to think they watch over us ... they call them angel babies for a reason . My Dr told me I should wait 3 months.. I asked if 2 months was long enough and he said that some studies have shown a slight increase of risk for another loss but it is not not a huge increase and that as long as I was aware of it he would be willing to do another IUI before 3 months . I need MA to get pregnant now, and I have PCOS so I don't use OPKs . And Due to complications I had to wait anyway.. Our bodies take time to heal but I think our hearts take longer .. Good luck !!!

So sorry for your loss. I m/c last weekend too, and just stopped spotting on Friday, but I do think I am going to wait for my first AF to start TTC again (only because of the anxiety I know I would have if I got PG right away....)

Are you still POAS? The only reason I'm asking is bc I know that you won't ovulate until at least 2 weeks after your HCG reaches 0. I POAS yesterday and I still have a very faint positive, so you might want to monitor yourself for the next week or so. Once I'm negative I am going to start my OPKs again, just so I know when to expect AF. Good luck!

thanks ladies for all your advice

i just went to the dr today for a follow up and she said that it is okay to start right away if i wanted to. she suggested to wait until my first real period come only because of due date estimations but she also said thats what u/s are for. i love my dr shes awesome!

i havent taken a test yet to see if it comes up bfn but im thinking i will soon. i really want to try again right away but i think i might wait until i get my period but im going to be NTNP until then. hope for the best for all of us. miscarriages arent easy but itll happen when the time is right.
