OK, so I had spotting and cramping on Thursday and went to the ER. The ER dr. talked to my obgyn. My obgyn told him to have me come in on Monday or Tuesday. I called my ob's office today and the nurse said something about coming in on Wednesday for bw. I was hoping to get the bw done sooner b/c they won't have the results til Friday. GRRRRR!!!! The nurse didn't even talk to the dr. to see what he wanted to do. She kept telling me I need to call St. Louis and find out what they want to do next.

I am sure I am blowing this out of proportion, but it is really aggravating me.

I'm sorry Lisa... when you expect to get some more information and things get in the way, it can be so infuriating I hope everything gets worked out so you can get your results soon. Are they going to get you in for an appointment too, or just the bw?

They are just doing bw. Hcg and progesterone on wed.

OK I am so glad I got that phone call over with!!! I talked to my oncologist. She was really nice. It is just that a**hole I was really worried about.

Protocol for me:

Do early u/s when hcg reaches 1200 (?) or 1500. I think she said at 1200 we should see the sac and if it is above 1500 we should see more. I am guessing my hcg is already that since it was 823 on Thursday. Wouldn't you ladies think?

If it does show a sac we will treat it as a new pg. If my hcg decreases or plateaus I will still need an u/s to see what is going on. If it doesn't increase then I would need a D&C right away to have it sent to pathology. I forgot to ask if it isn't a new pg. if they would do chemo. OOPS!!!

She said I don't even have to drive there. My obgyn can follow my care. She just wants me to report back to her by phone!

I asked her about molar tissue growing back or if there could still be molar cells in there. She said according to MOST research it should be gone and shouldn't grow back, but there have been a few cases that show it with a normal pregnancy. If I carry to term, I will need to have my placenta sent to patholgoy b/c it could have molar tissue.

I think that is basically it. When I talk to my obgyn on Wednesday, I am going to tell them that my oncologist wants an u/s on Monday. That away they don't try and argue and push it back. I will be 5w6d on Monday. Do you think Monday is way too early to have one or should I wait another week? My oncologist just said to get an early u/s. She didn't specify how early. I told her they were going to schedule an appt on monday and asked her if that would work and she said yes.

I'm so sorry Lisa.. I'm surprised they didn't do bw at the ER.. they've always done one for me when I've gone with spotting/bleeding..

They checked my hcg and that was it. The ER dr. spoke with my obgyn and my obgyn said he wanted my progesterone checked at his office on Monday or Tuesday. Now the nurse is telling me Wed. I have also been told that I can't even compare my hcg results from 15dpo to the one done at the ER at 16dpo b/c it was sent to 2 different labs. I did though and it more than doubled.

sorry the doctor is giving you such a hard time...I think sometimes, especially after a loss you need to more up front and demand things...That's what I did in my last pregnancy...I hope your numbers are good and the spotting stops (((Hugs)))
