okay so i had a m/c about 2 weeks ago and i thought i was completely done bleeding because the whole i had no blood whatsoever so me and dh had sex. then that night i started bleeding red blood and passed some tissue too! so i obviously wasnt done bleeding now im kind of worried because i hear if you have sex while your still bleeding, you could get an infection and it could lead to infertility problems? im just really worried because im still bleeding and we did have sex, that im going to get an infection. has anyone experienced this? any advise would be great

I'm by no means a doctor, but from what I understand, you would only need to worry about an infection if dh had some kind of infection that he could have passed onto you. If that were the unlikely case, the infection would be worse just bc your cervix may still be open from the m/c. I think you're probably ok though.

As far as sex goes, my doctor told me to wait until my hcg levels were at 0 before dh and I "resume relations" (lol), which she said will likely be next week. I have no idea why we have to wait though!

I know we waited a while before having sex at all (emotionally I couldn't take it).

Dh and I didn't wait very long to have sex... I think it happened just like you where we thought I was done bleeding and then still had some blood for a couple of days after...

I wouldn't be too horribly worried, but if it bothers you that much, call your OB and ask about it.

If it helps any, we didn't wait. I didn't get an infection. I think it's just a concern if your cervix is still open. My Dr. told me 2 weeks but I needed that comfort.

My dr said wait two weeks for the cervix to close. I got an infection 2 days after my d&c I was in some serious pain. We did not DTD for a long time!
