I'm trying to potty train Erin and it's not going well. She's a terror and half the time I want to rip my hair out.

I'm not looking forward to having to do this with Patrick too.

And if I have more kids I'll have to do it with them too.

Add in how terrifying pregnancy is for me. And how utterly horribly sick I get.

I must be completely crazy to want another one.

It makes absolutely no sense.

(((I love Erin, make no mistake. I'm so very grateful to have her. Right now I'm just feeling at the end of my rope.)))

I fully understand Brittanie! My ex helped a lot with this, and no I don't know for sure how it happened, but one week she came back to me, and had no more problems with it. It's been nearly a year since she was potty trained with only a few accidents, but I remember how hair pulling it was up until that beautiful moment when it did happen.

I also totally agree with you about the pregnancy thing as well. My dental bill alone should scare me away, but since I'm getting all the work done in very few visits it's helped ease it a little bit. But really not looking forward to it.

At the same time, i'm looking forward to every single moment of it. While I may not enjoy every moment of it, i'll still....well, you know what I mean

*hugs*

What have you been trying with Erin for potty training?

Are you trying any behaviour charts with her to encourage her to want to use the potty? Theres lots of good sites you can print free ones from. To train the little Autistic girl I work with, I bought a potty that played music when she was successful. She loved it! Is she able to verbalize why she doesnt want to?

I understand Brittanie...I just got Jack potty trained last December...It was so hard, and I thought he was going to be in diapers till college!!!...Then he went through a stage of pooping his pants every day!!!...Even today he peed his pants, it was such a stinky mess!!!...He was the hardest out of all my kids to potty train...and sometimes I wonder if i'm crazy, for now wanting to start all over again (that wasn't my plan, but I guess someone has other plans for me)...It's frustrating, but it will happen...She might just not be fully ready. (((Hugs)))

I know what you mean! I'm just starting to introduce the idea to Jacoby. What helped with Jordana was taking her to the store and having her pick out some character underwear. Then we talked about how "Tinkerbell wants to stay dry. We have to pull her down and pee in the potty so we don't pee on Tinkerbell and get her all wet...." Worked wonders. She was trained in a week (daytime)

Jack still isn't trained for night! sometimes he wets and sometimes he doesn't...I'm so sick of washing bedding that I bought him pull-ups, but it gives him a rash...He's going to be in kindergarten next year, he needs to be potty trained 100%, plus I need him to start wiping his own butt...No clue how to start that one lol...I potty trained 3 girls before him, and i'm not sure how I did it...I don't remember nearly as much trouble as I have with him lol

Yeah, everything that you ladies have suggested...I've been doing. She's not necessarily refusing to sit on the potty/etc, it's just that she'll sit on it for 10 minutes, pull up her pants, walk into the front room, and wet.

She loves her panties. And I've only got her in diapers at night or if I know we'll be out in public for a long time (I know I shouldn't put her in diapers when we go out, but until she's reliably telling me she has to go pee and going in the potty, I just don't want to deal with that).

She's just been very difficult lately, in everything, not just potty training.

I cried at Matt for about 45 minutes yesterday and I'm feeling a lot better this morning, thanks ladies!

Brittanie, Jack did the SAME thing...It was so frustrating...I used to put the toilet in the livingroom, in front of the tv and just make him sit there till he went lol...mean, but it worked...I'd usually put in a movie or something he wanted to watch...then once he got the hang of peeing in the toilet, we moved it into the bathroom.
