I hurt myself cleaning of all things at work... flicked some things under the table and when I went to pull my hand back I must've had allot of force because I cut my thumb from the sharp ledge. (hard to explain) It's so deep it was numb for the first hour, the cut is a good 1in huge flap of skin. Fricken thing wouldn't stop bleeding for 20+ mins at work, after getting me cleaned up they told me to go get it checked out. Dummy me, I was going to stay n work. Good thing I didn't I had to have 5 stitches!

Have to say I've had some doozy of cuts from knives, the blood and all that doesn't bother me... but getting the stiches I swear to Gosh I was going to vomit from the pain. The nummy stuff did nothing (or not enough rather)

My poor wrapped up thumb

Like frankenstein in the background? He watches over me at night

Minus the events of work, I'm in a better mood sorta...

I am sorry you cut yourself.... I am sorry you had to go and get stitches. Stitches suck and are yucky and hurt a lot and yuck!!!

Are you going to be out of work for a while or will you be able to return soon?

OMG Celena, how horrible It made my stomach churn when I saw your picture, and my thumb hurt...Makes my cut on the bottom of my foot yesterday (I stepped on some glass) seem like nothing...When my daughter got stitches the numbing stuff didn't work either! I hope you make a quick recovery!

OWWWWIIEE! I am tellin' ya...out of everything I have done to hurt myself (or that cause pain), the worst was my pinkie finger (I "popped" it open at work). Those appendeges hurt the worst. I really, really hope you got some sleep last night. But don't be surprised if you are in a lot of pain cause of that. I guess the nerves are so heavy in the fingers that it makes cuts like that even more painful. Don't be shy about those meds girl! Heal really quickly Sending hugs your way

Ohh... Codeine.... I want some. They won't give it to me because I'm allergic and start hallucinating. Maybe I'll come to your house to trick-or-treat.
I cut my thumb open years ago and didn't think I needed stitches. When I finally went in, I needed 8 stitches (4 inside 4 outside) 4 shots later, they finally stitched it without it being numb too. I still have a huge scar, but if I ever rob a bank, they won't be able to match my thumb print.

Don't do anything too rough while it heals.

That sounds painful. My Dh cut his finger on a saw at school. His finger still looks a little funny and he can't bend it all the way. That has to hurt!

You remind me of a mummy wrapped up for Halloween.

Hope it doesn't hurt that much.

Can't you get a little work comp? My dh also cut his hand changing a light bulb b/c it burst on him. They had to pay him for the rest of the night and his ER bill.

That's what I was going to say...WORKER'S COMP! When I popped my finger at work, they had to pay me 66% of my wages (although I guess if you are tip-oriented, that won't help a ton) for the time I was out. I was out a week and a half, since they had to do surgery to extract lodged bone fragments. My finger still hurts sometimes and has a nasty scar. We could so be a bank-robbing team
