Hey ladies,

For the moment I am still pregnant, but I don't think it is going to be lasting much longer. My tests began getting lighter again. And I don't have much hope after having it happen twice previously and it being the same exact story. So...the loss is impending.

But the good news is that I have an RE appointment on November 19th. My doc is awesome and realized that this was something out of his area and wants to get a specialist on board. My question is what should I expect from this first appt? Me and DH are going...and my docs sent all the records (and made the appt), so what else do they do? Any insight would be great. I am excited because I really want to get this stuff worked out and not have to go through this roller coaster anymore.

I am so sorry, Ash It's so unfair.

As for the RE, at my first appointment we just talked. Our doctor told us what his plans for us were, and we got to ask any questions we had. I would get a list of questions ready beforehand. I hope that the RE is just what you need!

Hello Ash,

Sorry I was lurking. TTCAL use to be my home but after back to back losses I couldn't handle trying to concieve anymore and low and behold we got pregnant. Sorry my point is that we too had 2 early chemical pregnancies never lasting more than 4wks 3 days before my tests would go negative after days of light tests and getting lighter never darker. My suggestion is has your doctor prescribed progestrone. When I got my BFP this time I didn't have a doctor as we just moved. But my SIL recommended hers and even though I sounded like a crazy woman I went in demanding I see a Dr. and I was willing to pay anything out of pocket. Luckly I didn't have to, and even though I officially hadn't been late for AF yet they saw me and prescribed Prometrium (progestrone) 200 mg 1 x a day even though my levels of progestrone weren't on the low side when my test results came back they kept me one them. You can see in my siggy they were 48, on the high side for normal but that is with the Prometrium. He also put me on 1 baby aspirin a day, as well as extra folic acid (I take 2 -800 mcg tablets) and a B-complex suppliment you buy in walmart or any store. In addition to my normal prenantal and DHA supplement I was already taking. He said he had no idea what was causing my early losses so he wanted to cover all his bases with me. I honestly credit the progestrone for getting me this far. Have you asked you doctor if he would be willing to write you a script for progestrone? It wouldn't hurt. And honestly I'm sure this is illegal, but I hate seeing woman go through the pain of loss over and over. I have an extra perscription my doctor wrote when he thought he was going to up it to 2x a day but decided after looking at my levels I didn't need it. I would be willing to send the bottle to you if you doctor won't write you a script for it. I have seen many woman take it and make it farther in their pregnancies than ever before. Maybe for this baby it isn't too late? Good Luck hun and I pray this baby makes it!!

I tried to post last night but my stupid phone went all wanky.

First- I hope this is your rainbow baby!

My first RE appt he sat down with both DH and and I and discussed all the factors that could be affecting us. What he told us later is during that time he is also assessing both of us and looking for certain physical traits that could point to genetic issues. Then he gave me a head to toe exam and also did a trans-vaginal u/s. Also did a complete blood workup. He found my biggest issue that day with the u/s so we decided to do surgery at that time. I just had to wait for my next cycle to start- which ended up being another m/c.
They may not have answers that day- they may want to wait for all your blood work to come back- and possible a sa on DH.

I'm still hoping that this is a sticky lil bean and the whole appt is moot!

Thanks for the answers ladies. It helps so much to take the lonliness of this away

I am actually already taking aspirin (started the day I got that first BFP), even though the doc never mentioned it. Thankfully, my aunt had luteal phase defect and managed to keep her twins (after 7 chemicals) by taking progestrone. So she told me two days ago to call the doc and ask about it. My doc is beyond awesome and realizes that this is just something wacky that he can't explain and had no issue prescribing me the progesterone. I am taking 100mg twice a day. I don't know if it is doing anything (I am not bleeding yet, but the tests are not darker...still so faint I can barely see them). I have some more bloodwork today and should know my betas from Monday and today sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for the info on the RE...I just wasn't sure if I should expect just a talk, or an exam, or some blood work, or nothing. So we will see what they decide to do. I don't think I have a luteal phase defect (my ov-to-period time is normal, like 12 days), but I am sure they will still look into it, since I guess it can be genetic. Hopefully they will be able to find something, I just can't imagine doing this AGAIN. I feel like four losses in a row is just collossally unfair
