How long after your loss/es did you wait to ttc again?

My doctor said 2 cycles, the nurse at my office said at least 1, and various friends have said anywhere from its fine right away to three months. I've read a lot online, but of course everyone has mixed opinions.

So how long did you wait? And if you did get pregnant when you started trying right away, was it a successful pregnancy or another loss?

I had an ectopic in Nov '09 was told to wait one cycle. We got pregnant in Feb. only to lose at 9 weeks. I had a D&C and was told to wait until my HCG returned to normal. We got pregnant again in July and had yet another loss at 9 weeks and had yet another D&C. We are currently TTC again.

Wow, so sorry to hear of your losses. Did your doctor seem to think it was because you didn't wait long enough in between pregnancies or were they unrelated?

Sorry for being nosey, this is all new to me so I'm trying to figure this all out.

We waited a few months this time around, only because my husband was out of town on business.

If you got the ok from your doctor, then it is just a personal decision for you.

We had a 10 week loss on Oct 1st. Dr said to wait one cycle. I got a period on Oct 24th so this is our first cycle not trying but not preventing.

Thanks. The losses were completely unrelated to the wait time. We acutally have no idea why I had the losses. I have no known fertility issues except for the recurrent miscarriages. I have had every test and procedure done under the sun and nothing has come up.
The doctor said that as long as we waited for AF to arrive we would be okay. I asked what the reasoning behind waiting is and it has to do with the Endometrium not thickening up enough without a period...and I now know how important lining thickness is to implantation.

I had a chemical and the next month conceived our son. I didn't know you were supposed to wait for anything. I also had a mc at 8wks and we didn't wait but I didn't get pg right away either. I just had another early loss and we didn't wait. We'll see if history repeats and we get a sticky bean this cycle.

it seems there's so many different opinions on if to wait or how long. If I have my period does that mean my lining is becoming thicker?

With my first loss my OB told me to wait 3 months. I did and was SO miserable!! We conceived DS the first cycle trying after our 3 month wait. The second time they told me to wait until AF returned and I didn't feel like waiting. We conceived DD before AF returned. This time I had a d&c and my OB told me to wait until AF returned. We did, and she just left yesterday. We're going to start bding in the next few days. My pattern is lose one, have one, lose one, have one, lose one. I'm praying that history repeats itself since I'm on the good side of the pattern.
