I had a D&C Oct 6th (baby measured 1 week to small and had no heart beat or fetal movement Should have been 9 weeks along) I had not gotten AF yet but I hear it can take 2-12 weeks to get it back.
So I decided to start doing ovulation tests to see if I could guess when AF might visit. Oct 30th & 31st I got a positive and thought what the heck I am not waiting and going to start TTC now. Nov 4th I had a appointment to see my Dr for a follow up. They asked if I had a period yet and I said no... and might not. The Dr came in and talked to me and answered questions for a good 20 minutes. He then asked if I wanted a Blood test to see if I was pregnant... At 4 days after ovulation???? . So the next morning the nurse called and said my test was negative and the Dr said to keep trying and using my ovulation tests and in 6 months if I am not pregnant make an appointment... WHAT? I said to her well should I still home test next week to see if it was to early? She said "No hun it was negative so you are not pregnant". Umm ok so now I am confused. Everything I read online says implantation can take 5-12 days and then another 2-3 days after that for your body to start producing HCG so how can they tell me that only 4 days past ovulation that I am for sure not pregnant?
Any one ever hear of them being able to really tell this early??? Do I really assume I am not pregnant? My period according to Ovulation test would not be due for almost another week.
I always find I get better answers from these groups than from Nurses or Dr's.
