My first period was like the previous poster's. Very heavy, full of clots, painful, and LONG! It reminded me of the first postpartum period (sorry if that hurts anyone). But I think the hormone combinations are similar and that first one can be a doozy. I still have not had a "normal" one, as the others have been early miscarriages (chemical losses). They have also been heavier than normal and a couple days later. I assume from the few extra days of blood and implantation attempts. I am sure that my periods will go back to normal after this whole mess is over.
I don't think how your period shows has anything to do with your body not being ready. If it came, you bleed after a break of not bleeding (after the miscarriage) and the bleeding stopped, I am sure your lining is producing just fine. I wouldn't dwell too much on how it presented. Your periods will change like that over time anyway. And something like a birth or miscarriage and permenantly change them. I would go with whatever plans you have to TTC. Good luck!!
