What was your first period like after your loss, whether natural or d&c?

Mine was heavy the first couple days but then really light, almost not there the rest. I typically had a little heavier of a flow throughout about 6 days.

Do you think it would be ok to start ttc this cycle or does the flow/length of a period have anything to do with being ready to ttc?

Mine was very heavy for 2 days and then very light for 3 days. Definitely different for me, since I used to have 1 heavy day and then a medium/light flow for 4 or 5 days. I don't really think your actual AF has anything to do with TTC though. We are back to TTC after just one cycle! Good luck!

I had a natural m/c at 10 weeks and my period came 24 days later. It was really light the first day, pretty much just spotting, but seemed pretty normal the next 4 days.

My first AF post MC was pretty bad, big clots and super heavy flow that lasted awhile with bad cramps ... However, my 2nd AF was much better, a few cramps, no clots kind of light and only 3-4 days... We started on our own that cycle but no joy yet !!! I like to use a quote from one of my daughter's fav movies ....
just keep swimming, just keep swimming... Gotta love dori :-)

My first period was like the previous poster's. Very heavy, full of clots, painful, and LONG! It reminded me of the first postpartum period (sorry if that hurts anyone). But I think the hormone combinations are similar and that first one can be a doozy. I still have not had a "normal" one, as the others have been early miscarriages (chemical losses). They have also been heavier than normal and a couple days later. I assume from the few extra days of blood and implantation attempts. I am sure that my periods will go back to normal after this whole mess is over.

I don't think how your period shows has anything to do with your body not being ready. If it came, you bleed after a break of not bleeding (after the miscarriage) and the bleeding stopped, I am sure your lining is producing just fine. I wouldn't dwell too much on how it presented. Your periods will change like that over time anyway. And something like a birth or miscarriage and permenantly change them. I would go with whatever plans you have to TTC. Good luck!!

My first period after my 8wk loss was strangely really short. I've had short periods since then, only 2 days of medium and like 3 days of spotting compared to my normal 7 days of heavy. It just changes everything so you can't really compare anymore. It's just a new normal I guess.
