So today is day 16 of not smoking. It has been a really hard journey - there are times where I really crawled out of my skin. Today has been an easy day, not many urges and I can even go to the store now and trust myself not to buy a pack.
I never thought I would be able to quit. I battled it with my husband all the way and his attitude is smoke then, I just wanted you to be healthy to live longer with me. <--- yup, he got me!
After 25 years or so of smoking, I am really doing it and proud of myself! Yipppppppeeeeeeeeeeee

16 days! That's awesome! I know it's hard and you are doing a wondering job, before yo know it, you will make it to a month without smoking!

Congrats! Today is my 5 weeks and 1 day mark of no cigs! It gets a tiny bit easier every single day. And I already feel SO much better! I've also gotten to the point that I get stressed out, and my first inclination is NOT to smoke. Good luck to you!! Keep up the great work. I know how very hard it is!!

I'm so proud of you Missy!!! Your doing great  ...It gets easier in time...I used to smoke too, on and off but never a heavy smoker (I was always able to quit right away when pregnant), but i'm almost 2 years of no smoking (I had stopped for 2 years, then started up again for a year before I quit again)...I still crave it sometimes when i'm stressed out, but not that much anymore!!! You can do it!!!

I'm sooooo proud of you!! I'm not a smoker but my mom, dad, sister, and brother are, and I've seen what they've gone through in their many attempts to stop. I think you're so strong, and I know you can do this!!!!

You girls rock! Thanks for your support. I have never gone more than a day without smoking (except for once - 3 weeks when I was pregnant last year) so this is a big deal for me. I did not even want to quit but made a promise to my husband I would try for him and here I am - doing it!

Missy  it takes 2 weeks to make a habit and 2 weeks to break it.... I'd say you're THERE baybee!!!! It's going to get easier and easier everyday from here on out (I pray that it continues to be easy for you as well) Can't tell you how I look up to your strength to do so cold turkey like you have You're a strong and strong willed to continue doing so fabulous Missy

Missy, what an amazing accomplishment I hope you are super proud of yourself! Now that you've conceded to husband's arguments and quit, you can tell him that you'd like to enjoy your time with him by:
a) Having him buy you something pretty
b) Having him cook you something yummy
c) Having him take you somewhere fun
d) Having him wait on you hand and foot or
e) All of the above

Missy that is awesome! I am so proud of you. I didn't smoke nearly as long as you did (I did it from 15-21) But I quit with my dad who had smoke 35+ years and together we kicked it. This Easter will be 2 years! I still get urges from time to time but it is so worth it

Thanks again Girls!!! And Nicole, he does all of the above anyway... He is a really great husband! We are so lucky that we found each other because we are perfect for one another. We balance each other out and ever since we got married it is even that much more awesome That is one of the reasons why I made the decision to take the plunge and quit....
He strives everyday to be a better man and husband and in turn I need to step up to the plate <3

Wow girl! You really do something hard core huh? That is awesome that you went cold turkey and are through those two weeks. As a drug and alcohol counselor, I can say that you are in the FEW who manage to quit cold turkey and keep it up for two weeks without even caving once. Cigs are one of the hardest addictions, they are available, they are legal, they have less obvious dangerous side effects (less obvious, not actually less dangerous), and you can seldomly just avoid it all together. I am proud of you for doing it for you and your hubby to have a better life together. You really are through the worst of it...just watch those stress reactions and you are golden
