I wasn't sure whether to post this, but some of you ladies noticed in my last post (update on my pregnancy) that I was a little uneasy/stressed so I thought I would share. Hope you don't mind.
A little about my anxieties the past few days.....
I woke up today and blew my nose and had some blood in it. Well with my pmp, the same thing happened. My bp was really high though when my nose was bleeding. I freaked out and took my bp. It was normal. A little higher than my normal, but still great.
Also my back has been hurting worse and I have been cramping some. My bladder has felt really full. Even after I go pee. With my pmp, my back starting hurting worse the week I m/c. Not sure if it is b/c I have a bad back from an injury and was on bed rest or if it was b/c I m/c. So needless to say that has freaked me out too.
I also had a fever yesterday. I talked to the nurse b/c I was more worried about the cramping and backache. She said she wasn't that concerned about that. She was more concerned about the fever. I wanted to go in just to have them check for a hb, but last Thursday they couldn't get it by doppler b/c my uterus was tilted. They ended up doing an u/s.
OMG so relieved!!!! So tonight, I just got the hb using my doppler! YAY!!!! Almost too excited to take a nap. I had to call dh so he could hear. He was like that is def. faster than yours. It was so hard to count though. The doppler kept jumping from 160-180. Not sure how accurate though. I am going to try it out again when dh gets here so he can count.
** I just wonder if the cramping and my back hurting worse than usual has anything to do with my uterus. Maybe is it shifting back to the normal position????

wow, you are 11 weeks already Lisa? How exciting is that? I am super happy for you! Are the Doppler things cool? The other night my husband and I were watching a movie and the girl had a dopplar at home and I thought it was so amazing... they did not have that technology when my boys were born.

Missy- Doppler is pretty cool. I didn't get a real expensive one though. Just a handheld. It was $72.00. Not sure if it is getting the right hb yet. Other ladies have mentioned that it jumps around a lot at the beginning. It said for my hb it was 122. Not accurate at all. I kept getting mine for about the last two weeks. It said 160-180 for the baby. I lost it and would get it back so tonight I am going to see how accurate it is when dh gets home. I am going to have him count too.

I'm so happy that you were able to find the h/b!! That must have been such a relief!! Have they checked you for a UTI? They are very common in pregnancy and can sneak up on you. I never had a UTI or a yeast infection until I was pregnant with DS, and even then I had no idea. I went into preterm labor at 28 weeks and found out I had both. Anyway, UTIs can cause back pain, cramping, and a fever. If they haven't already it might be something to look into. Also, blood when you blow your nose is normal during pregnancy. With all the increased blood flow to the nasal passages and tissue it can cause nose bleeds. I'm sorry you have to be worried. I wish we could all just be blissfully unaware of all the things that could go wrong.

Lori- They just checked my urine last Thursday and said it was fine. I do have a yeast infection though and am getting treated for it. I am on day 4 of the treatment. I think I am going to have them check to make sure it is gone sometime next week. The nurse said something about checking my urine if I still had a fever. It was 99.2 earlier and 99 now. So not really a fever.

Well, I know it's hard to say, but try to not worry too much about all your symptoms. Your going to drive yourself crazy. I bet your baby is just fine.....
The dopplers are wonderful. I had one with my last baby and it was great to hear the baby's heartbeat everyday. I loved it. I was just so sad when I didnt hear it anymore....so there is some fear involved with using a doppler. You also have a tilted uterus, which means it's going to be hard to catch that little one on doppler sometimes.
I am so happy for you Lisa....you so deserve this baby! I hope and pray for you everyday!

Lisa - My temp is routinely 99-99.3 this entire pregnancy, especially right around the 12-16 week period, so totally normal.
I have also had constant nose bleeds and they were the worst during the 2nd tri.
If you research relaxin hormones, you will see they start to increase as you enter the 2nd tri. For some women this presents in lower back pain (especially if your utereus is tilted towards the back) or round ligament pain, which can be mistaken for cramps or in my case, hip pain. It got better after a week or two and then picked up again in the 3rd tri as my belly got huge. I have found the Snoogle has helped me sleep. It is my new bestest friend and DH's worst enemy!!
Hang in there. Each week gets a little better.
Kat.

Yea Lisa!! So glad your little bean is doing well in there.
I also think that all your "symptoms" are completely normal at this point. I always have a bunch of stretching pain when I am pregnant because of my tilted uterus. You will have a bit more than average because the weight of the baby and placenta will slowly tip it back to where it needs to be. That is normal I know it is hard to relax.
Those doppler things are cool. We had one with Liam. We rented a nice model from a medical supply place. I will say though, ignore the actual number. Just listen for the strong, regular beat. My doc knew we had one and mentioned that the number display can be wrong a lot, since there is so much movement and blood flow going on, it jumps around a lot. He said not to worry if the reading said 110 or whatever, as long as the beating was strong and regular, he was fine

Oh yay for finding your little bean's heartbeat! I have a doppler too, but there are so many different sounds it picks up on that I never knew actually when I was hearing a heartbeat and when I was hearing, say, the bloodflow to my uterus. I only used it a couple of times, maybe if I'd gotten more familiar with it I would have felt more confident in it. I'm so happy you were able to calm your worries
