So I called the nurse today and she says "your HCG is 126. It should be tripling so we can wait for you to start bleeding heavily, do an u/s to check for an ectopic or do more labs on Friday and talk about it then". If it had fallen, at least I wouldn't have false hope anymore or if it had gone up really high I'd be ok but now I'm just waiting for something to happen and I don't know what. I'm ok with the fact that this pregnancy isn't viable but we aren't telling anyone and we are driving 12hrs away on Wednesday to be with my Mom for Thanksgiving, the last thing I want is to miscarry while I'm there or worse, to have it be an ectopic and end up in the ER.

On top of all this, my DH says "I think we lucked out with the ones we have and maybe we just shouldn't have anymore". So I can't even get upset or it makes him think that he is even more right and we should just stop. I feel lousy too. Just enough HCG to make me sick to my stomach and cramps on top of it.

I'm so sorry hun! It is still going up. Why won't they do an ultrasound now? Just to rule out ectopic.

I don't understand why they don't do an ultrasound to make sure it isn't an etopic? That isn't something you want to take a chance with. I don't understand why they wouldn't want to make sure?!?!?!?

Rebecca, I don't understand why your doctor's office is unhappy with your new labs. You're showing a doubling time of a little less than 48 hours, right? Since your level on Monday was 60? I'm just a little confused because I saw your number and I was actually excited.

I don't want to push you because sometimes I know it is easier to just let go of the hope and let what happens happen, but I'm not sure I believe that your newest number indicates anything other than a healthy pg. Whatever happens, I am here for you, hon

I'm so sorry you're going through this

Posting again about this because I am looking all over the internet and getting really mad at your doctor's office. Your doubling time was normal, Rebecca.

Here is a chart I found:

At 14 DPO, the average HCG level is 48 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-119 mIU/ml.
At 15 DPO, the average HCG level is 59 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-147 mIU/ml.
At 16 DPO, the average HCG level is 95 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 33-223 mIU/ml.
At 17 DPO, the average HCG level is 132 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-429 mIU/ml.
At 18 DPO, the average HCG level is 292 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 70-758 mIU/ml.
At 19 DPO, the average HCG level is 303 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 111-514 mIU/ml.
At 20 DPO, the average HCG level is 522 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 135-1690 mIU/ml.
At 21 DPO, the average HCG level is 1061 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 324-4130 mIU/ml.
At 22 DPO, the average HCG level is 1287 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 185-3279 mIU/ml.
At 23 DPO, the average HCG level is 2034 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 506-4660 mIU/ml.
At 24 DPO, the average HCG level is 2637 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 540-10,000 mIU/ml.

Get a new doctor! Unless I am missing something it looks like your numbers are great. We should be saying Congratulations!

Im sorry Rebecca your going through all this but I agree that they look like they are doubling ok.

Are you still getting your tests done through the GP or are you back to your OB now??? If your still at the GP you may want to consult your OB on this.

Thanks everyone. I'm trying not to worry and I'm still hoping for the best but I don't want to get my hopes up. I've never had betas done except when I miscarried so I don't even know if this is normal for me or not. I haven't even talked to the Dr. yet.
The reason I'm not going in yet is because I can have labs done for free but appointments I pay for, at least until January when our insurance changes. I asked if she could even see anything on an ultrasound at this point and she said no and that if it were ectopic I'd be having pain, which I know isn't necessarily true but I wasn't about to argue with her. I think because it was a different lab, it could be throwing the numbers off too.
This is almost exactly what happened with my MC at 8 weeks, minus the labs. Same kind of bleeding too. I thought it was a period. I think maybe it's easier to just prepare for the worst than to hope for the best and have my heart ripped out again.
Thank you all so much for listening to my rambling! I don't think I'd be able to stay sane if you all didn't understand what I was going through.

I am so sorry. I do agree with the others that the numbers look normal.... Can you talk to the doctor directly on the phone without an appointment?

Ugh, that's crap. I'm praying for you honey!!! I know it's so hard to hope for yourself, but we're all hoping for you! I think that that nurse is insane, though. This is the first time I've heard anything about numbers tripling.

My heart sunk when I read the title of the post

I agree wit the ladies and the numbers, aren't the doubling like they suppose too?
First, I want to say, that nurse should get fired, nurses should be a bit more compassionate when dealing this kind of stuff.
I know that it's easier to deal with the fact that it's over with than to hold on to hope, but I am holding up to hope for you. I'm praying and praying hard for you.

Sorry Tobi, I'm not really bleeding. I had spotting yesterday and today but now it's stopped. I'm just worried because the same thing happened before. Spotting, then cramping for 3 days without anymore spotting, then I miscarried.
I think the labs on Friday will be the last ones I get. If it's going to happen, then it's going to happen and torturing myself further isn't going to help. I don't want an u/s before 6w or I'll just worry over that too. This is just the worst sort of 2ww.
