Anyone here take B6 and/or B12? how much do you take per day, and why? does it work to make your LP longer? How much is too much to take?

I just bought 100mg B6 and 500mg B12 and i'm hoping that it will help make my LP longer...my prenatal vitamins have 2.6mg B6 and 8mcg B12, so i'm wondering if it's too much to take along with my Prenatals?

I have no personal experience, but I know some women combine the B6 with progesterone cream.

I don't know about the B12, do yo have to take both together?
I take I think it's 100mg of B6, and haven't noticed a difference. Now I will say that until now the last couple of months have been very stressful with dh leaving, the move and TTC. I will still take it. As for taking too much, your body flushes out what you don't need.

I take extra B6 and B12 together along with the prenatal I'm still taking for an energy boost. I don't know if it has any effect yet because I don't chart. B6 should be taken with B12. I would also take a B-complex when taking the B6 and B12. Walmart sells a great B-100 complex for $6.00.

Yeah I read that you should take B6 and B12 together...I actually used to take B-complex, but I didn't buy any today...I wanted to see how many mg you should take, I don't want to take too much.

oh and I also need to add that I think my doctor is testing my progesterone this cycle since my LP was so short last cycle...Will taking these affect the progesterone test?

B vitamins are water-soluble. Anything extra will be flushed out with your pee. Everything I've read, 50-100 mg of B6 should do the trick.

Vitamin B6 isn't progesterone. It's thought to lower your prolactin levels, thus increasing your progesterone levels. I imagine it would take a few months to see a difference in your LP. So you should be just fine. An endometrial biopsy would be more accurate in diagnosing a LPD though.

I just recommended taking the B-complex with the B12 and B6 because they will work better when combined with the other B vitamins. However, most B-complexes don't have enough of the B6 or B12, so I just take extra. Sorry to confuse you.

No, no you did not confuse me, I just did not know that. I want to make sure I am taking the right stuff. Thanks for telling me.
