I will ask whoever performs my D&E procedure, obviously, but until that day comes...

how long after a miscarriage procedure did your doctor suggest to wait to TTC?

I tried Googling but boy, did I get different replies! I read the a D&C suggested to wait a while because the "scrape" wears down your uterine lining which, of course, is essential in sustaining a new baby...but I believe that I'm having a D&E which is the suction and does not include the scrape.

I also had a D&E, and I started trying right away after I got my first period (which was 2 months after)...I got pregnant the first time trying!...My doctor told me that I wouldn't get pregnant if my body wasn't ready...I of course had a miscarriage, but I was told it wasn't from trying too soon...I think most doctors will tell you it's safe to try right away...they suggest waiting till you get a period first.

With my first natural m/c my dr at the time told me to wait 3 cycles. I didn't know any better, so I did, and I was miserable the entire time. After my second natural m/c we started trying before AF returned and conceived DD. This time with the d&c I was told to wait until AF returned, and I did. Most of the time drs tell you to wait more for the emotional aspect than the physical and so that it's easier to date the pregnancy. If your body isn't ready to get pregnant, it won't.

I just had a D&E 2 weeks ago, and my doc told me to wait 3 months. I have my follow-up tomorrow, and I'll be questioning her about this, just to see why the opinion varies so much.

I had a natural m/c at 10 weeks (started bleeding and losing big clots when baby had a hearbeat on u/s only 4 days earlier, albeit an abnormally slow hb with no rhythm) and my OB told me to let one AF go by.

I had the loss on Oct 1st
the AF oin late Oct
and this is our first cycle NTNP

I've realized that this opinion differs SO much!

My doctor suggested I wait 2 cycles. Needless to say we waited one and are back to trying. I'm a little hesitant about it, but at the same time trying to remain hopeful that all will be well and that if my body is not ok, I won't get pregnant.

The opinion differs so much it's hard to listen to any one in particular. I say BD, take vitamins and live a healthy lifestyle, and you have nothing to worry about. You won't get pregnant if your body isn't ready! At least that's what I believe, whether or not it's misguided, who knows!
