I'm still not actively TTC, still we're still on the fence, but I've been trying to weigh my options before making a decision. I was told that my lupus anti-coagulant was high when I had all of my blood tests done after my last m/c so when I get pregnant again I will need an aspirin a day. That was all that was said.

As I've looked into it a bit I'm realizing it's a baby aspirin, not an full strength aspirin and they said nothing about anything else. Some people need injections too but nothing about that was mentioned to me.

I have two kids from my first marriage. God forbid something happens to me the kids would go to their father. I'll just say that this wouldn't be an ideal situation. Does anyone know if taking an aspirin a day would be putting myself in jeopary in order to try to have a successful pregnancy? Or is this just a technicality and not a risk?

I'm trying to weigh all options before we make our decision and if aspirin means an increased risk of bleeding to death, or some sort of terrible complication, I think my decision would be made because my two babies that I already have need their mom. THanks for your input.............

Hi Sweetie

Many girls have had to take an aspirin a day throughout their pregnancies for one reason or another and I have never heard of any complications from it. I think Kary took one a day and I know that Lori took one as well and both have beautiful babies now

Have you been retested for the lupus anticoagulant? I was tested right after my miscarriage and it came back positive...then 12 weeks later it was negative...I don't know much about it at all, but my doctor has me taking a baby aspirin every day...She told me to take it now and into pregnancy...I'm also being tested for more clotting problems too...I think the dose of asprin is so small, that it helps thin your blood, but I don't think it will cause you to bleed to death...I think a lot of woman take it...In my first pregnancy I took aspirin for something else and I had no complications and my daughter is now a healthy 11 year old girl...I think if your doctor tells you it's safe, it will probably be fine...Good luck to you!!!

Jessica .... I dont know anything about taking aspirin, but ...... It sounds to me as though someone is getting their ducks all in a row ... Are you coming a little closer to making a decision? Are you going to actively TTC?
