I just had my D&E on Wednesday, I was nearly 12 weeks when I should have been 14. The doctor told me to wait two cycles before TTC and I'm heeding the advice because I think that it's best to allow my uterine lining to build up a little. He told me that AF should take about 2-3 weeks to return and he thinks closer to 3. I was actually kind of hoping for an October baby like myself but I'm thinking that's not possible.

One of the hardest things is how I really have no control over everything right now. My body always does exactly what I want or expect it to do. With Hayley, I got pregnant after one month. When I got my Mirena, I didn't get a period for two years. With Cammie, I got pregnant three days after getting the Mirena removed despite not having AF for so long...all of these things are what I expected/hoped for. My body usually doesn't let me down! In this situation, I have to sit and wait for AF whenever it decides to show, then wait for two cycles to glide by, then hope that I get pregnant and my body keeps the baby.

It makes me feel better to at least try to feel in control so I looked up some things to help build uterine lining because my biggest worry is that I'll still be bare after two cycles...I know that might sound weird but I need to feel like I can fix this, even if I can't. I read that exercise builds a good lining but I'm trying to lose weight before a baby anyway so I already started exercising (yay for Wii!) I'm going to take prenatal vitamins because they can only help me! Vitamin C, folic acid, and supposedly a baby aspirin a day but I don't like that one heh. There are little tea and herb things but I'm not a fan of those things and I also won't use progesterone. I know this is long now but hey, maybe some of you are interested in trying too so I figured I would share. I found a lot of these on other TTC after miscarriage forums anyway.

Sooo not a whole lot to update here, just telling you how I'm going to try to get myself on the road to a baby...

We were told to wait 3 cycles after the d and c. We waited 2. I couldn't wait any longer! And my little man was the result. Not saying to do this...just letting you know that I have no self control when it comes to this stuff. Good luck on your TTC journey!

Your doctor told you 2-3 weeks for AF to arrive after a D&E? It is usually more like 4-6 weeks. I have short cycles (24 days) and it took 5 weeks after both of my procedures.

I understand about feeling more in control and doing tons of research on the internet. I think we have all done the same.

I would be so eager to start ttc too so I totally understand. I hope your AF returns soon for you and the vitamins help. I need to take some as well but I am so bad about remembering.

I agree with Missy...2-3 weeks after a D&E is wrong...I started bleeding bright red blood 3 weeks after my D&E and I was told it was my period, but they were wrong, and I hemorrhaged for 12 days before ending up in the hospital...If you bleed 3 weeks after your D&E something is wrong IMO...I had my D&E done on April 6th and didn't get my period after till June 2nd almost 2 months after I had it done (D&C done on May 8th)...especially for being farther a long, I would expect for it to take a little longer for your cycle to start...It actually took me almost 2 months to get my period back after my natural miscarriage too...It's so hard to wait to start TTC again...I had to wait 12 weeks after my last miscarriage, so I did things to try to keep my mind off of it, and to make myself healthier, and I think it helped time go by faster

I can relate to how you feel about wanting to control things. I'm in the same position. Also, I had my loss around 8 weeks and it took a little over 5 weeks for my period to return. The wait was torture!!!
