Hi ladies.
You might have seen me posting responses to people but I haven't had much of my own stuff to add since I'm not TTC yet..
I had my D&C on October 13th and have done extensive testing to see why I had two miscarriages back to back and the testing on both me and DH showed we are perfectly fine so they can't give us any answers. My stuff came back normal and DH's testing came back excellent (great sperm count and quality - they checked the DNA in the sperm)..

BUT when I had my sono earlier this week the RE discovered my D&C was incomplete and I have retained tissue. So this week I took 4 doses of cytotec but I don't think it worked since I didn't have much bleeding.

Anyways, I might have another D&C (will find out after my u/s next week) and then the next cycle we are ok to TTC! The doc was originally gonna do a biopsy in the TWW next cycle which would have screwed that cycle when it comes to TTC, but she said it's largely academic so she said we could skip the biopsy and I can TTC again! I can't believe this whole ordeal has taken 5 months!

So I will be back to TTC next cycle

That stinks! I guess it is good news that your tests came back normal. Mine did too after 4 miscarriages and I have then had 2 mores since then. It is so frustrating and hard to understand why this is happening. I hope your whole ordeal is over soon and you can focus on TTC again. Good luck!

That's crazy! I'm so so so sorry that your D&C wasn't complete. I'm really glad that your tests all came back okay. I hope the cytotec works its magic so you don't have to go through the d&c again. If you do I hope your recovery is quick and complete and you get your sticky bfp quickly!

Wow that sucks about the retaining tissue and that the cytotec isn't working. I would be upset that they didn't get everything during the D&C ....I mean...Isn't that the whole purpose of having a d&c? I don't know everything about it.

Melissa, yes they should have gotten it all. Apparently less than 1% of D&Cs are supposed to leave behind tissue! What is ironic is that abortion clinics use U/S during the procedure (or at least right after) to make sure they did the job, but at the hospital they don't use it during or right after a D&C! Isn't that crazy that you're better off going to an abortion clinic to have it done?? Uggh

I don't think the cytotec worked but I have to go for my u/s to make sure.

Another thing that sucks is now I don't know if I can DTD? I mean I am not spotting anymore or anything.. I took the last cytotec on Saturday afternoon.

I am sorry they didn't get all of the tissue during the d&c. I was very lucky when I had my d&c in August they had to use a u/s with the d&c because of my tilted uterus. Happy that all of your test came back good on you and Dh.

so sorry that you are going through all this. It makes it harder when you're trying to move forward and having to think about going though another d and c
