Hi. ladies. Name is heather and im still dealig with my first miscarriage so i guess im not really trying to conceive quite yet but thought someone here would have some insight? I had a blighted ovum I was told. it took about 3 weeks from the time it stopped growing at about 7 weeks along til the time i started to bleed it out. TMI maybe but i had about an hour and half sitting on the toilet massive bleeding session and have since been consistantly bleeding for 6 weeks. i dont have insurance to go to regular doc so i went to the ER and they told me it was normal to bleed this long. but i was in about 2 weeks ago and they said my hcg level dropped already down to 125 but i dont understand how it can still be going on and wanted to know if maybe someone has some kinda insight into how long 'normal' can be? i just want to get this horribleness over with now and start trying for another baby. i have one son (please vote thru my link at bottom if you have a sec) and been trying for a second for over two years only to have a miscarriage. im scared to start trying again but i just want another baby so much its worth getting over the fear of going thru this again...

sorry for your loss...bleeding for 6 weeks after a miscarriage is not right...My doctor told me after my natural miscarriage that after 3 weeks if I was still bleeding (which I was) that i needed to be seen...Mine wasn't retained tissue (which is what they were worried about, it was something else), but i'd say that you have a good chance at having retained tissue and i'd see a doctor asap...retained tissue for 6 weeks after a miscarriage not only can cause infection, but it can also cause hemorrhaging...Good luck and I hope you can see a doctor and get it taken care of.

I agree with Megan. While you may not have money to go to the doctor, you need to find a way and go. I do not have health insurance so I understand the struggles of medical bills. You should not still be bleeding and you could hemorrhage out. Please go, you need to take care of you. If you can't find a way to go to the doctor then go back to the ER.

I would go to the ER, they will still treat you without insurance, and most hospitals have programs that you can apply for to help pay for your bill.

bleeding is light with small clots in it. i have been to the ER now like 6 times regarding this miscarriage and I think if you ladies say I am not supposed to be bleeding still i think im gonna go back this week and demand a different doctor! i still have off and on cramping too. gonna flip out on these **** doctors if there is an issue since i went back only like a week and a half ago!

Hugs! I agree with the other ladies. Is there maybe another Hospital in the area that you could go too?! You really do need to be seen.

I am so sorry that this is happening to you I agree with the other ladies, that it is not normal to be bleeding for that long after a loss. I hope you can be seen by another doctor who will take the time to figure out what is going on.

I agree. Even after a spontaneous miscarriag at 10 weeks, I only bled for 3. Get checked out.
